OK, So I'm going to build a new computer I want to know what you think;

BRAND NEW AMD AM2 5200x2 Dual Core CPU, 2GB RAM (Supports up to 8GB), ASUS Motherboard £199.99

ASUS ATi Radeon HD X1550 1GB Graphics card £54.99

7.1 PCI Sound Card £23.99

20x Dual Layer DVD Writer (SATA) £15.50

Do you think all those parts would make a very good fast PC more than capable of running Vista and Games at high quality?

You graphics card is the main weak link - it's lower mid-range DX9 ATI. And... 1 GB VRAM? Typo? Do you absolutely must have a sound card? Because I would rather use that 24 quid to buy a better graphics card.

Games at high setting with that graphics card? No way. Put in more money to get at least a X1650 or X1950 - but if you can extend it further, a 320MB 8800GTS.

You're saying that you're building a new computer, but can you post the full specs, that is, all parts that you are planning to buy?

Try and buy the 8800 GTS 320 MB, in my opinion i think that this is a great card. Its the cheapest high-end card and its worth it.
