I've been playing Fallout New Vegas a lot and it's got to be my favorite game of the past 10 years. That being said I modded the hell out of it to make it so good (runs smooth, way better graphics, custom soundtrack, added weather etc. etc.). What are your guys' favorite modded games?

Unreal Tournament 3. I never even had the urge to Mod 2003/2004 because it came with so many beautiful maps. UT3 traded maps for a stupid campaign where you play as some GOW wannabe.

Just curious.....what DLC's are worth getting for the game? I just have the vanilla version of the game.

Does Sins have good mods? I played it and found it lacking but if there were some kind of complete overhaul (like a star wars mod, that would be cool)

there's countless mods and total conversions.  I have star wars installed, a total makeover of vanilla, a few others, and soon a mass effect one.  Each feels like a different game

Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms with the Third Age mod

Freelancer with Shattered Worlds, and Crossfire 1.9

All Bethesda games. Currently replaying Skyrim with tons of mods. Good stuff

Dragon Age Origins with the Dragon Age Redesigned mod is pretty sweet too.

Neverwinter Nights was the first game that I really enjoyed the mods for. More recent, FONV, and Red Orchestra 2.

Dragon Age Origins and the Elder Scroll games have the best mods I've played in any game. So much replayability and enhancements with mods. I tried to finish Fallout New Vegas with many attempts but the game always CTD in certain areas of the game. I've tried playing with mods, few mods and vanilla. The game seems to be unstable for me, which breaks my heart because its dark with a rich atmosphere and well crafted compared to Fallout 3.

Max Payne 1 is hugely underrated for mods. You can unlock Matrix skins, dozens of new weapons, kung fu mode, fan made maps.

Hands up, one of the best mods of all time for a pretty good game. Here's my little list of games I have recently played with mods.

So D2 with MXL + Plugy for shared stash and resolution patch.

STALKER with Complete and better graphics.

Fallout games. Restored content + bug fixes and graphics mods are mandatory for both FO2 and FO: NV to really make them shine and worth revisting. These games have always been notorious for bugs and it has always been about the bigger picture, but with bug fixes such as the unofficial patches for both games you can make your experience better.

Any TES game. Nuff said. The mods catalogue is huge thanks to the editing tools and the Nexus site among others. The one I've spent time on recently is fairly obviously Skyrim.

Also worth revisiting for time to time is NWN2 and its predecessor for its many modules.

Another one I played recently is the Empire: Total War mod called DarthMod Empire. It tweaks the AI and uses small mods to improve general aspects of the game, including graphics. It's massive. :)

They are worth getting but if your really hurting for money I'd say the general concensus is that Sierra Madre is the 'worst' of them while Old World Blues and Lonesome Road seems to be more of a favorite from what I gather. Anyways if I had to choose one I would choose Lonesome Road because for it tying up most loose ends of all the DLC's, where the Courier may after all figure out why he got the chip instead of the original courier, Ulysses.

ARMA2 is probably my favorite game to mod.

Close behind it are all the elder scrolls games  Morrowind is probably the most visibly shocking game to mod (even though the combat blows), then Oblivion, then Skyrim.
