Who cares what it looks like in the high end. If there is anything we should hope for it's that they'll optimize this well enough so it doesn't look like balls on today's hardware, unlike the first crysis.im glad their keeping the realistic environments it looks amazing and it will hopefully look way better than the Console equivalent

Yeah..You'd be looking for CryEngine 3 (The engine Crysis 2is going to use) shots, not CryEngine 2 (Which is the engine Crysis uses) but those pictures are damn impressive, as far as I know there are only magazine scans of Crysis 2.That isn't from Crysis 2, that is still just modified Crysis.

If those pics are from a modded DX10 Crysis, what mods are those (doubting my new PC will be able to play at that detail anyways)?
Hmm they need more tessellation on the rocksanolecrabcfI agree, I know this is one of the major points of DX11 and I fail to see them really utilize it. Some of those screens the ground is still looks flat with a dirt/rocky texture on top.
Remember all the SS from the original Crysis before it came out, and then it turned out to look nothing like that and they said there was no computer that could run it like that. Just a thought when I see SS before a game comes out.
This is not Crysis 2, This is Cryengine 1. Also from what I saw of the 3rd engine when it was showed was really unimpressive. Though I know it was awhile ago.millerlight89
It's Cryengine 2. Cryengine 1 was last gen. Unless you want to count Far Cry 2's heavily modified Cryengine 1. :P

Whoops I meant the second LOL. I went from 1 to 3 and skipped 2.Who cares what it looks like in the high end. um well i care what it looks like its some thing to aspire to and thats where the market is, if they release a game that requires higher spec then they encourage people to buy new tech people will buy new cards in the hope of achieving just a fraction of the brilliance displayed in those pictures if they are real
but yeah they do need to optimise itrealistically
No, they trick people into buying higher equipment for an unoptimized game. They can make the cryengines as pretty as they want but hopefully they focus on gameplay and story this time.
Crysis was bland and boring, yet beautiful. It was just a glorified tech demo. I can't be the only one who felt this way.
couldn't agree more, as soon as the aliens started to appear, the plot just went to hell. something about global conflict interests me more than alien invasion. They can make the cryengines as pretty as they want but hopefully they focus on gameplay and story this time.
