@Alessandro1001: Most probably it won't work. I can't find anything that confirm that the headset port on the controller works on PC.

Windows has to recognize it as a legitimate audio output device for it to work. Not sure if that is the case as it would have to be built into the drivers for the device. See if it is listed in your playback devices.

Ya Microsoft sells a specific model that comes with drivers for pc. I'm sure you can find those drivers for a regular xone controller on their website to make the audio work if it doesn't all ready.

@BassMan: @stathis90: This actually did work on the 360 controllers when they were used on PC. If you plugged in an headset to the jack on the controller it showed as a legit audio device, so I'm not surprised to hear that the op got it working on the Xbox One controller.

Ohh great! It is a driver solution then, so its in Microsofts hands but if they did it for the 360 controller i believe it will be workimg on the xbox one controller too!

Yes you can do this with a X360 or X1 controller on PC. I got the XB1 controller with 3.5mm audio jack & have used my Turtle Beach Earforce P4c headset I got for my PS4 through it without issue. However I do not recommend this as your main way to hook a headset up to your PC as the sound quality is definitely affected compared to a decent gaming headset made specifically for PC. The difference is night & day with that setup compared to using my Corsair H2100 wireless gaming headset.

Because the Xbox 360 controller doesn't work for PC unless it's the PC specific model. Xbox One controller works fine on PC though, just plug it in via USB.

it actually does work, if you have the wireless dongle for Windows. the controller is the same for both console and PC. i don't know about the wired version.

@Alessandro1001: Thanks for the heads up because I've been wondering the EXACT thing myself and have also been unable to get an answer. Being able to pipe audio through the controller is awesome if you have your PC hooked up to a TV that you are some distance from.
