I recently upgraded my gpu to a gtx 690, However in certain games I get some suprisingly low fps, in particular playing far cry 3 I can get as low as 30. My specs are below.

Far Cry 3 is very CPU demanding. Your CPU isn't good enough to max it out.ShadowDeathXfarcry 3 isnt a good example of a well coded game. Most people are lucky to get 40+ average with good cpu's and a gpu's

With GTX 680, at 1080+ there is not a huge difference between a i7 3770k vs an AMD quad core

Far Cry 3 ran just fine on my 3.7ghz Phenom II X4. It runs a bit more smoothly on my 4.5ghz 3570k, but it was perfectly enjoyable on the old CPU. A 3.4ghz 1st gen i5 quad is just fine.

Yet the graph you post gives it ~10fps higher at 1200p? Or are you talking about 2560x1600, where it still beats it?[QUOTE="04dcarraher"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] By good you mean, mid-range machines that are 2-3 years old right?Nibroc420

Yet the graph you post gives it ~10fps higher at 1200p? Or are you talking about 2560x1600, where it still beats it? 10 fps difference proves that the game is poorly coded, with a intel i7 3770 at 4.5 ghz = 1 fps over a stock i7 3770. even then i7 at 4.5 ghz does not even make 60 fps averages. Dont forget the measly Athlon X4 645 at 3.1 ghz is only 12 fps difference with a gtx 680.Yet the graph you post gives it ~10fps higher at 1200p? Now you're using the 2560x1600 figures for comparison... All the graph proves is the game is more GPU dependent than CPU dependent.[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="04dcarraher"]

Thats because the CPU is being bottlenecked by the GPU at those high resolutions

I'd say so also. My son has a Athlon x4 and he can run far cry3 fine, with 30-40fps. He is only gaming @ 1600 x 900 res though.[QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"][QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]Far Cry 3 is very CPU demanding. Your CPU isn't good enough to max it out.godzillavskong
