Currently I have an ATI 5850 but I was thinking about getting a GTX 570 in preparation for Battlefield 3.I think I could sell my 5850 for around £80 and buy a 570 for around £250. Therefore I would be spending around £170, worth it?

Ok just played some single player, on HIGH I averaged at 55fps and on ULTRA it stuck around 25fps. This was only on 1680x1050 resolution

are you using the DX11 update??i get 30+ on my 6850 which is weaker than your 5850 then again im playing at 1366x768 with a dual core athlon. anyways if you really need to get good FPS i suggest you get the 6970 or gtx580 if you want a single GPU.if you want to go xfire get a pair of 6950. by the way what CPU are using??

Yeah I've got the DX11 update, I feel like my system is underperforming but I'm not fully sure. That's what's tempting me to get a 570, a 580 is a little out of my price range. My Cpu is a q6600 currently at 3.2ghz, I have the FSB at 400 but the multiplier only set to 8, if I go any further than this or change the multiplier to 9 my overclock is unstable.

if you can get another 5850 and xfire them you can get performance compared to a gtx580. but you might have issues with games that dont have proper support for xfire/sli. but still if you can xfire that would be great since new titles coming out will most probably support/handle xfire well.

hmm...i suggest you upgrade once you have saved up more for a gtx 580. why to spend money on a gtx570 and later think you could have got a better one.use you 5850 for now as it still is a small beast.may you could upgrade your CPU to an i5 2500k or even better for budget an amd phenom quad.

Nope. I wouldn't upgrade unless you can get another 5850, 5830 or 5870 for crossfire.
