World of Warcraft - Is it possible to check to see if someone is online?

Hey... I was wondering if it's possible to look up WoW usernames and see if someone is online... I don't own the game but I wanted to check and see if someone's online at all... is this possible outside of the game? If not... is it possible to see if people are online if they aren't on your friends list? Thanks!

It is not possible as of this time check if a person is online, unless you are on the player in questions server.

If they are on the same faction as yourself, simply type in /who zugzug, where zugzug is the name of the player.
