Unless it's a PS3 or XBOX, I'd have to say: No, it won't run on your system.

Should be able to handle medium at a decent resolution.

Before you build a new system, it would be worth overclocking that 920 and throwing in a new GPU. If you're not happy with that, you could then upgrade the CPU.

I would say a GTS 450 or GTX 460 at a bare minimum to play on low settings.

The GTX 285 is better than both.

That would be fine for running BF3. The 285 isn't a bad card at all.

Maybe better than the gts 450, but not for the 460 in bf3. BF3 is heavily optimized for dx11 cards, a 460 would outpace a gtx 285.

Medium 1080p around 40ish-50 FPS stable. Medium with some settings on high for lower resolutions, you could propably max it at 720p.

a 460 is enough for high settings TC you can play it medium maybe even high settings depending on the resolution Also you have a very good cpu ( especially when Overclocked ) that can easily outpace and modern dual core cpu. If you wanna upgrade just upgrade the graphics card to something in the likes of Amd 7870 or 7950/70 or gtx 580/570 or gtx 680 anything less than gtx570 you wont see significant improvements over a gtx 285

Ive read that there are issues with the game in DX10, so it maybe worth getting a DX11 card. I dont see why you would want to upgrade the CPU, yours is still very high end. Its suppost to be faster than my CPU (phenom ii x4 955) though mine is overclocked to 3.7GHz. I run the game smoothly. Only issue is that it can drop into the 30s fps mark sometimes.

your cpu isnt to blame. your cpu is more than enough for todays games and any games in the future.

Yeah I'm still using an overclocked 460 and it can run that game nice and smooth on settings from High-Max (though not fully max) with dx11.

I think I'm the only one who contributed anything to this thread. Read the first reply. The game is a broken buggy P.O.S. on the PC. If you want to play BF3 you might as well do it on the console since the game was designed for consoles. Also, if you enjoyed BF2/BF2142 then stay away from BF3 or you will be sorely disappointed overall. EA/DICE is literally the most incompetent developer in the market right now. All the best employees at DICE have already left for greener pastures. I'm running the best PC specs you can. GTX 590's in Quad SLI and 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, i7-980x 12M L3 Cache. It crashes to desktop often, also online you get "Disconenected from EA Online (1)" at least once every ten times you join a game. It's a buggy P.O.S. and I uninstalled it a month ago. After the most recent patch it has destroyed the game. I suggest that you do some research before blindly purchasing the worst game of 2011.

never use AA and you can maxed almost any game @ 1920x1080 60 fps. hell... my g74sx -3de with a 560m gtx can run bf3 ultra @ 1280x720 60 fps consistently.
