Force 16F2 http://www.xoticpc.com/force-16f2012-msi-16f2-p-3376.html?wconfigure=yes

15.6 1920x1080

Intel Core i5 2430 2.4GHz

Nvidia GTX 570M 1.5GB GDDR5

8GB DDR3 1333

640GB 5200Rpm HDD

Dual layer CD DvD-RW Drive

7 in 1 Card reader

Bluetooth

802.11 B/G/N Wireless card

No Operating system

Total $965.00 OR if i send a money order or check its $936.05

NEXT HP DV6TSE http://www.shopping.hp.com/scat/notebooks/dv6tse_series/rts/3/computer_store

Screen 15.6 1366x768

Intel i5 2459 2.5GHz (only $20 dollars more than the 2.4GHz 2430 so why not)

AMD 7690 2GB GDDR5

Free upgrade to 8GB DDR3 (thats what it says atleast)

750GB 5200RPM HDD

Dual layer CD/DVD Burner

Probbly a 7 in 1 card reader

No Bluetooth (not that important really)

802.11 B/G/N

Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit

Well the few things im thinking about is what will the performance be between the two. the HP has a lower end video card but also has a smaller screen resolution while the FORCE has a higher end video card and a high resolution would they both perform simalarly at there native resolutions?

Not to mention the HP has a faster processor for very cheap and a bigger hard drive AND Windows 7 64 bit. im having a hard time deciding.

I would say the first one for gaming, plus I prefer MSI to HP.

Yeah i was looking at thos. Unfortunately upon further inspection there 7690's use DDR3 and not GDDR5 and the performance suffers significantly from it.

EDIT: i was also in a live chat and the person working for lenovo said that a Nvidia 520M was a high end graphics card and it was great for gaming (LOL)

yeah i was on notebookcheck really looking at the difference and the Nvidia 570m can be anywhere from 40% to over 200% better than the 7690. but like i said will there even be that much of a difference due to the fact that the 570 will be running at 1920x1080 while the 7690 only has to push 1366x768? BTW i am not getting a blueray drive nor do i really watch HD video (youtube buffers to slow to watch in 1080p)

make sure neither laptop throttles...my laptop does and it really sucks hard, games lag like no tomorrow no matter if you have the best laptop cpu and gpu available. Throttle is done to keep the temperature below a certain level....once thats reached its game over.

I was looking at the AMD Mobile CPU's as well due to the fact that people overclock them to 2.6GHz with relative ease somone used a program called Intel burn test on there overclocked APU and i was getting at least Double the test time with my i3 350m (aka this processor is slower than an AMD Cpu)

Hmm if that's the case it should be about even, but I'm not exactly sure. I would still go for the MSI though because gaming in 1080p just looks a lot sharper. I actually have a DV6zqe with a 6750m OC'd to 6770m levels ( the 7690XT is just a rebranded 6770m). I get 30-40fps on low in BF3 at 900p, which is decent but far from what a 570m could do. If battery life and weight don't matter to you I still say get the MSI.

And the MSI uses MXM so the GPU will be upgradable in the future (though mobile GPUs tend to cost a lot).

Good point. upgradability is a big + and its hard to get laptops that are able to do so. not to mention i could upgrade to a quad core later and i think that laptop can handle DDR3 at 1600MHz. yeah i guess the MSI would be the best bet. i just had to think about to to make 100% sure it was the best choice even if it had the better video card.

I didint realise that the 470p's 7690m was only gddr3 :-( sad.....

The customer service said gt 520m is good :? Here they try and sell any laptop with a dedicated gpu as gaming laptops LMAO. :D Even the one with the 310m. :)

Msi laptop :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJFXthMAKKY

Or you could get this one. That is a pretty sweet and awesome combo of power price and performance. :D....... It has a gtx 580m

Youre welcome again :P :P

My brother has the 17" MSI one and he is pretty damn happy about it. The thing runs well (he did not buy from Xotic), has a solid keyboard, good screen and so far has performed great. (it comes with a 2nd gen i5 and a GTX560m), plays most games well. Anyway Id say get the MSI one, they are fairly reliable and are price very competitively.
