x360:P I don't want to kill your hope but if the developing schedule of this game on PC has much in common with that on x360

then Capcom won't  make a thing about the performance. The demo on x360 was running smoothly. Plus Capcom never made

a good PC port.

Porting to PC is badly done. I can't run it on max with 8800 GTS 640Mb, 2Gb 800Mhz and E6600@2.8Ghz.

I wouldn't really buy the game either. I can use my money on much better games. Lost Planet is just headless shooting, it doesn't really feel right that you can kill dozens of soldiers in ten seconds.

Maybe because Capcom is an ugly company concernig to make ports from console games to PC.

A lot of times I read abot that only console games developers are really good optimizing games, and the PC developers socks, but the truth is that some PC games developers, like Epic, Valve, id or Crytek, are very good optimizing his products to run even in low end gaming systems, whereas all the japanese ones from consoles like Capcom, Square Konami have no idea abiut how use efficiently the PC hardware.

Don't care: almost any recent PC shooter like Quake 4, Prey, R6V, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. brings you better graphics than LO with better framerrate.

Because you have a crappy 7800GS?? And only 1gb RAM... Indeed, is absolutely normal that you have only 12 fps... Or also could be that you need to change your drivers. Try it.

lost planet is a crappy port, do not concern yourself with that failure of a game. I wouldn't even download this game for free thats how poorly i think of this game, its so unoptimised and just a crappy port.

Because you only have 1 gig of ram and a 256 meg video card when the recommends a 512 meg video card and 2 gigs of ram.

i have a 7600GT and am getting framerates within the 20's. It's probably his drivers or his single core CPU.

However, the GS card series are pretty bad for gaming. And the 7600GT that you have is by far more better than the one he has. It's not a problem of the processor, nor the memory. It's a problem of his GPU.

I know that I'm extrapolating, and that I don't know which card distributor is he using, but take a look to this two ones:

XFX 7800GS AGP 8x Extrem Edition:

http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?series=GeForce+7800+GS&productConfigurationId=144816

XFX 7600GT PCI xpress 256Mb XXX Edition:

http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurationDetails.jspa?series=GeForce%26trade%3B+7600&productConfigurationId=592431

I know the arquitecture is diferent, but also the performance.

I fail to see how the 7800 GS is considered a "crappy card" when the game is said to run on a 6600 GT..  He should be getitng way more then 12 fps at low....

Why don't you go and see both specifications of the cards (a 6600 and a 7800) and see the diferences? And then we can discuss which factors from the card, and from the little we know of his equipment and his configuration about why is he getting a bad performance with Lost Planet.

Also, the GS is the lowest edition card of the series, and that's why I say it's a crappy card.

My point is the fact that 7800 GS is alot better then the 6600 and the game Lost planet can run with that...   So I fail to see why its a crappy card in the sense that it plays the game that poorly...  Now we arn't talking about why he is getting bad performance because you some how specifically think it is because his card is crappy when he shouldn't be getting FPS that low with a 7800 GS..

I guess the creators must have thought that 5fps is acceptable for people who are close to min specs..

It doesn't matter that its the lowest of the section, but the 7800gs is somewhat comparable to the 7600gt.  I got myself a 7900gs xt and it outperformes the x1900gt and the 7900gt with my volt mod and overclock.  It did not even need much of an OC to already beat out the 7900gt.  So it all depends on what GS it is.

But you're comparing an AGP8x card to a PCI express card. Comparing the two won't be that accurate.

First of all it would help greatly if you had an extra gig of RAM, and other than that, the game runs like crap in the first place when it comes to optimization.  Either Capcom was just lazy or they are trying to scare us into buying better hardware unless we get the DX10 version which is I hear runs alot better and we'll then have to get Vista to Microsoft's delight.
