Why are installs taking so long on Vista Home Premium?

I just upgraded my XP professional to Vista Home Premium, and I've been installing Mass Effect for the past hour and fifteen minutes. Why is it going so incredibly slow? Is there anything I can do?

What speed is your DVD burner at? And what model hard drive do you have?

thats just weird, I don't have install problems like that.

My install of Mass Effect only took a few minutes on Vista Home Premium. Though mine wasn't on DVD but a digital download from EA Store. May be your DVD is damaged or something

No, the disc is brand new. The Harddrive is a Seagate SATA 500 GB 16 MB Cache
