I'm going to buy an MMO soon, I've had WoW and guild wars, so neither of those. Which MMO would you recommend me and please give reasonswhy? I'm thinking either LOTRO or City of Villains.

WoW or GW isn't enough? both are great games but whatever - go with City of Heroes/Villains - it's so cool - you can try the 14 days trial - it has the best character costomization, other than that being a Hero that saves the world or a Villain that destroys it is pretty damn cool
[QUOTE="chrisrooR"]don't go into the current MMORPG market, its full of mediocre games. Wait until this coming fall/winter. :DPredatorRules
which will have...what? Warhammer Online? Tbula Rasa?
yes, but unless he wants to go into LOTRO (system hog), or EVE online his choices are limited.
Wait and see how Tabula Rasa and Age of Conan turn out. If you've played WoW and Guild Wars then you've pretty much experienced everything good there is to experience in the last few lackluster generations of MMOs. There simply isn't any MMORPG out right now except Guild Wars that doesn't force you through long grinds and repetitive gameplay to get to the endgame, wherein you realize you've wasted weeks or months of your life and have nothing to show for it except the ability to go on high level raids or missions for even more weeks or months to get better equipment to own lower players in PvP that is meaningless and unfun. Tabula Rasa and Age of Canon don't promise to give you a feeling of real achievement for getting to level 100 (if you do you probably need to find something better to do with your time), but they promise to make the game more fun than work.
Were it not for Sony's complete incompetence, I would have reccomended that you try PlanetSide. The game that was once the single most fun MMOG ever made now probably only has fifty people online at any time now.

LotRO is a system hog? Funny, my compter is hardly state the art by today's standards (Pent. IV 2.6 ghz, 1 GB Ram, Gforce 6800)and LotRO runs flawlessly with most everything set on high.
If you're a fan of anime you'd best wait till next year when the dragonball mmorpg is supposed to come out, if not then I wont recommend city of villains/heroes cause I did the same as you and after my free game time was up I didnt quite feel like playing it anymore(waste of my 80 euro's buying both games and a gamecard). its kinda an out of date game nowadays if you ask me and you wont find any better aspect in cityofheroes/villains that you didnt have in wow (maybe some minor things), only reason you might wanna play it is if you have more friends playing it. whichdoesnt count for me cause i dont have any.
Definately Fable.MindThaGap
Fable? HELLO?!!? That isn't an MMORPG!
I agree with 3secondgrenade and Muffinlord: If WOW and GW really didn't satisfy your MMORPG needs (Especially WOW) then you need a new hobby. However, if it's your friends that quit, then just make new ones online! Hey, there's millions of people playing WOW, I don't think you've met them all! If you need a friend, just add me for Pete's sake!
