Hi I was just wondering which CPU I would get more out of which is better for gaming and video editing. Or if there is a better one for around the same price.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 340GHz Quad Core Soc

Intel Core i5 3570K Unlocked Quad Core LGA 1155 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Processor

Or is it worth going a bit more for this one Intel Core i7 3770K Unlocked Quad Core LGA 1155 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) Processor

Thank you

Comparing a $95 CPU with a $220 CPU? 965 is no match for the 3570K. If you want to compare an AMD CPU with the 3570K, you should be looking at 8350. 8350 vs 3570K is not so black and white, however. Depends on the application. 3770K could be beneficial for rending and is easily better than the 8350. But again, it's $100+ more.

Intel vs. AMD is not a simple number comparisson. If you google a benchmark comparisson between all current processors, you will see that the AMD FX8350 8-core at 4.0 GhZ performs just bellow the Intel i7 3770 (without K) 4-core at 3.5GhZ. Another important thing to take into consideration is that most current games can only take advantage of up to 4-cores, so getting the 8-core is going to be a waste of resources for gaming. That Phenom II is going to be way bellow these 2. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+965 If I were you I'd try to get my hands on a 3570K, even used if you're confortable with that, since the Haswell came out a couple of weeks ago and many are upgrading and selling for nickles.

In current games the 3570k is the best option.

If you have something threaded well the 8350 tends to beat the 3570k and come close to the 3770k.

I'd go for 3570k though.
