Hey, guys. It seems that my 8800GTS finally died out, so I'm in need of a new graphics card. I don't really feel like spending a fortune on something fancy, and I was happy with the 8800, so I'm wondering if you guys know of a "modern" replacement for the 8800 - something just as good, if not better, but not too pricey.

Thanks!

What version of the 8800GTS did you had?

One of the two original ones 320 and 640 VRAM or the revised chip one 512VRAM?

Because I remember that the 8800GT was more powerful than the first two but slightly weaker than the last one.

I would go for a 460 or something.

6850\GTX 560MonsieurX

The 560 is much more expesive.

It should be either 6850 or 6870/560.

6850 is slower then a GTX 560 and can be had at the same price as a 6870 and they are on par with each other . and with a modest overclock a GTX 560 can match and or surpass GTX 560ti stock performance. For $165 after rebate.

nvidia gtx460 or amd 6850. Both around 150 and both to hold you a couple of years. Can both max vast majority of games at 1080p

For like 100 bucks you can get a 550Ti or a little more a GTX 460.

Both of which are significantly faster than a 8800

HD6850/gtx460 1gb are good options. the 460 can be had quite cheap, just make sure its 256bit mem bus and 1gb vram, then OC it, they usually OC to 850mhz, tha would put it on par maybe a bit better than the hd6870.
