Not talking about pirated games but a place to download full games by paying for them. Sumthing reliable like a steam store sort of thing.

Steam is pretty much the only service of it's kind. You're not going to get them free anywhere without participating in something illegal.

Thats deffinetly not true.

The other big service is direct2drive...which is worse than Steam, but has a big advantage in that it has EA support, which is the biggest EA publisher by far.

The only ones I've heard of are Steam, Direct2Drive, and there was one more but I can't remember its name.

I've downloaded the following games off Direct2Drive and have been happy every time:
King's Bounty
Warhammer Online
Titan Quest
and a couple puzzle games

I've also downloaded a couple off Steam:
Some random HL2 episode
Portal stand alone
Darwinia

I've also used Impulse form Stardock, the makers of Galactic Civilizations to downloaded these:
GalCiv II + Expansions
Sins of a Solar Empire DEMo

I am least impressed with Stardocks download manager because it seems so slow to load and always requires a time consuming update every time I start it. Plus the selection on Impulse is very poor and the prices for the few things I *am* interest in are higher than Steam on the rare occasions I've seen the same game at both places.

So far Direct 2 Drive is best for me because I don't have to download and update some download manager that always tries to stay memory resident every time I update it like Steam. Plus Direct 2 Drive has the best selection by far for the stuff I've been looking for.

Yeah, GOG.com is great for those older games.

I wish there was a wider selection of games to buy, because the service is really easy to use. Recently repurchased Gothic because I lost my original, and then Shogo Mobile Armour Division (which has an issue on my PC - mouse jerks all over the place :/ ) and finally Stonekeep, which I missed the first time around. I plan on buying Kingpin: Life Of Crime next, which I also missed for some reason.

Steam would be my next recommendation, for current games.
