The 7600GT will be better, because it has a faster core, and memory speed, also the 7600GS would not use the 512MB VRAM, it is a waste on such a card.

I dont think the extra 256MB of RAM is going to compensate for the slower clock speed.   Here is a comparison of both cards with 256MB of RAM.   The extra RAM is not going to make that difference up.
