I think you'd need a crossover cable though, I can't really remember though cuz the last time I did that was like 12 years ago.
They explode.red12355This. you need a crossover cable, and you can share files and play games with one.
not really...network adapters nowdays automatically cross over when they detect another network adapter using a regular ethernet cableI think you'd need a crossover cable though, I can't really remember though cuz the last time I did that was like 12 years ago.

Pretty much nothing. I am quite certain you need to use a Crossover cable for any actual data transfer.I have been wondoring about this for a while, what happens when you connect two computers with an ethernet cable?

[QUOTE="Flavorysoup"]Pretty much nothing. I am quite certain you need to use a Crossover cable for any actual data transfer. depends on your NIC. Like the other guys said, NIC's nowadays are capable of crossing the data flow over if it needs to.I have been wondoring about this for a while, what happens when you connect two computers with an ethernet cable?

Then you'd have a 2 computer network.
Reminds me of back in the day taking my PC round to my mates house to play Total Annihilation, Age of empires and Forsaken via direct cable connection.
