What happened to HL-Opposing Force stuff?

So if you played Half-Life Opposing force you know the stuff im talking about when i say all the new creatures and the character Shepherd. In half life 2 its compeletely forgotten but the funny thing is...Barney from Blueshift is still in it! I wonder why they took out the newer monsters some of them were vastly more challeging than the ones in the oringinal half-life.

Any idea?

Seconded. OpFor is easily one of the best expansion packs I've played.

I'd have to agree, Opposing Force was great. Valve has hinted at bringing him back in the future, but as far as I know they don't have any plans.

personally liked opposing force more than half life 2

half life and half life 2 were remarkable but odly i got bored in half life 2, things were drug on too long like the chase scenes etc
