Hi

I was wondering... I've got a pretty large gaminghistory behind me, and I can't seem to find anymore games that intruige me.

I call myself an excentric gamer, because I don't just enjoy any game. I've probably played all the best games in any genre.

The problem is, that if I play a game now, I get bored within the day. I did enjoy Mount And Blade. That's about the last game I played for over a month.

Right now I'm looking for a game that gives me a lot of freedom. Lets me decide what I want to do. If I want to be a criminal, I can. Extend a criminal empire. But if I want to be a simple baker, it has to be possible too. I want to be able to travel a lot, have a house and or a family. And I don't mean the stuff like the sims 2 or 3. I've played that game too long. And there is no crime in the game so that's kind of boring. It doesn't really matter in what time it plays. It can be modern or medieval. Probably a game like this doesn't exist. But does anybody know a game that comes close?

I also might enjoy an intruiging adventure game. With a great storyline and a long amount of playing hours. Like Broken Sword. One of the best adventure games I've played in my life. Great story, lots of hours.

Or maybe a good tycoon game. But they are rare to find. Most of the games just s*ck. I've played over 70 tycoongames and they all bored the sh*t out of me. Not enough freedom.

I really don't have any ideas left and I'm getting sick of that. Please please help me and give me some examples of games I might enjoy.

Thanks everyone!

Oh yeah, I forgot. I also enjoy no storyline games like Mount and Blade. That kind of expands the freedom you have.

I'd say the Tropico 3 demo's worth a shot. You could also go back and try Vampire Bloodlines - perfect with Hallowe'en coming up.

Tropico 3 I've played. Was a fun game, but didn't have a lot of differences with the first one, except the graphics. So I got bored of that one rather quickly.

Runescape is online right? I don't like that so much... Online games. That takes away too much of my time. and you get addicted. :)

Yeah it's kind of hard for me to think of anything like this in the non-MMO world. And even in MMO's a lot of those are pretty limited in what you can do.

not in any way related (but this is sort of the whole point) but take a look at a reckless disregard for gravity for a fresh idea with lots of value.

Maybe the original Fallout games? You can do a lot of things in those. Not what you described, but still.

Thanks for all the replies already everyone.

Fallout, I thought about that one... As I did enjoy playing Oblivion and all... I just had a rather strange thought about the game. It looked more like a FPS. But I might give it a try.

Gangsters 1 and 2 are completed by me... :) Indeed good games, but at one point too easy. And Gangsters 2 had some flaws. But indeed, that is a good game for me.

One other game that came to mind now was Calibre something something. Calibre 66? A number... I enjoyed playing that one too, but it moved to slowly, and one mission had a bug so I got stuck in the storyline. Had to meet a guy somewhere and he never showed up...

Fable was also a great game. Maybe a little to easy, but really a great game. I haven't tried the second one yet, but maybe that's worth a try too?

So I've got some great RPG-adventure recommendations. Thanks for that. Anyone knows a reeeaaally good "tycoon" game? Lots of freedom? I think I've tried them all... With no success. Tried Capitalism 2, but way to boring. No intruigement there...

No storyline games anyone? Like mount and blade?

You guys are being a great help here. Thanks!!!

reckless disregard for gravity

Tried that game. Hehe, know what you mean with a fresh look at games. Couldn't really enjoy it though...

In my search of exentric gaming, I even tried Osmos and Microsia. How Pathetic is that. :p

Anno 1404. Screw the campaign, you can waste hundreds of hours in the sandbox mode.

Yeah the guild 2 was a pretty good game... But you had to focus breeding to much.

Anno 1404: I haven't tried that one yet. But did play all the other in the series. So that bores me as well...

X3 : Terran Conflict. It is an open ended space sim. Yes you can be a pirate, and while you might not be able to bake you can buy and place a meat steak cahoona factory to produce food.

Have you played Indigo prophecy? One of the best games I have ever played, and that comes from a guy that normally hates quest.

Why not look at indie games? Cheap and fun. Wont last forever but usually they are just plain fun.

X3: Terra Conflict sounds good... I'll give it a go.

Garry's mod... Never heard of it. :s I really don't know what that is.

And indigo Prophecy... Ofcourse I've played it. :) Great storyline and some unusual gaming. Very good game. Unfortunately my ps2 fell out the window "accidentely" a year ago or so, so I can't play it anymore.

Just saw both of the trailers. Are they any good? Pathologic I could understand, but The Void? What's the game about?

Pathologic is good, but the translation sucks. They started a "retranslation" project, it might be fixed in a few months.

The Void is launching tomorrow in English. The Russian version is supposedly brilliant. You play as a soul in the afterlife. You complete tasks for or against the inhabitants of the afterlife - the Sisters, the Brothers and the Predators. Every action requires the use of colour, which is your health, your currency, your weapon, your tool, mana, food... Everything is based around colour manipulation.

Sounds strange... Maybe I'll give it a try if there's a demo.

Doesn't there exist a game like, a mixture of "Real Lives" with some sort of criminal, more free playing game?

That would be awesome. A world map, where you are born, and create your own life. But not like Real Lives, with more to do. Buying houses around the world. Buying leisure equipement like boats and private planes or something. Getting in trouble with the law etc etc. That would be awesome.

Building a criminal empire. So I don't really need great graphics and a 3D world. Just enough gameplay to keep me busy for ages. And I don't only mean crime, but that would be good enough... But it would be even better if you were able to lets say, just create a business empire. Or a good career.

But a game like that just doesn't exist, right? Probably to much work to make. They have a small version like this, called "car thief".Very enjoyableat start. But in somepoint it limits you to much.
