Why won't some games work on a laptop when a VPN is connected?

I have downloaded Siegefall into a Windows 10 laptop. As soon as I connect to a VPN the games says no internet connection.

I thought I could solve this by downloading the game onto my smartphone, but there is no way to log in, so it starts a brand new game. Obviously I don't want to do this because I am months into the game!

If I bought a PC game, would I have the same problem?

I am shopping at https://www.pricedropdonkey.com/cheap-entertainment/computer-video-games-deals because I can get games cheap their, so I most likely looking at slightly older game titles. Anything similar on this site that you can recommend?

I have a gaming budget of £20 per month.

When you connect with VPN to a certain network you get all the rules apply within that network, if it's work VPN you might be restricted to some ports and thus not able to play online with some or all games.

I have never mentioned such issues as the prevention of playing games while the VPN is working. Maybe it is better to choose another VPN. For example, you can try to install ExpressVPN or choose among other VPN services that you can use both for PC and Android. Look trhough this link https://vpnservicepro.com/bestvpns/best-vpn-for-android/ and you can find something good for you, I hope.
