Apologies of this has been asked before.

Anyway... with my new PC i am entitled to a free copy of Vista Home Premium. Currently i am using XP Media Centre.

If i upgrade, will all my files, documents, settings etc... be transfered over to the new OS.

Yes if u do not do clean install then all ur current file will be transfered to vista.Although either do a clean install or do dual boot.
