So I know it is not out yet (soon, though, if you were lucky enough to get one of the limited pre-orders!), but I had a question about the Valve Index

Will it work with Oculus Rift sensors?

I really only care about the headset, don't care too much (at the moment) about the controllers or tracking 2.0 sensors. Maybe I will get them down the line.

I can't seem to find anything about it.

The Index page on Steam only says that it is compatible with Vive accessories.

Aw well, that's all right. Guess I will just have to get the whole setup then.

Yeah just noticed that haha, don't know how I missed it.

All right thanks for the help everyone. Anyone here thinking about buying it?

Valve's new in-house developed VR setup. Uses LCD screens instead of OLED which improves quality, plus it has much higher resolution. I'm all about A.) getting rid of the screen-door effect, and B.) getting rid of fixed sensors in favor of headset-mounted ones. This setup looks to solve part A, at least.

The controllers sounds pretty great, too!

Yep. I have my pre-order in. Got it in at 10:06.

One thing you'll like about the full setup is that these new base stations don't have to be mounted on poles etc. They can just sit on any table etc.

@mrbojangles25: Ok. well I am not convinced yet. I'll let VR sort out the start up problems before I give it a go... Also I will need more free time to properly test it :P
