Usb port problem...

when i hook up the case usb ports to my otherboard and boot up my computer it says something leik usb ports overloaded shutting down in 20 seconds ... does anyone know a way to fix this ?

there may not be enough power. whats your power supply? also are you sure your plugging the front ports into the right motherboard jumpers?

im pluggling them in right .. and i ahve a 650 watt power ssupply and i am running a flash memeory card reader too ...

thats weird it would do that. how many USB ports are taken up by peripherals?

i jsut have the fkash reader connected and the 4 usb ports on the back of my mo bo

hmmm. are you sure you didnt plug them in backwards cause it sounds like that sorta problem. if not then maybe its a windows issue. check in the event viewer and see what that says. it should be under the system log.
