Hi Guys!

Like my title says, i'm looking to beef up my pc in light of the upcoming FANTASTIC games due out, (my big one is Batman Arkham Knight). Anyways here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k @ 4.00 Ghz

GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 770 (stock speeds)

RAM:Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600 MHz x 2 = 8GB

HDD: Intel 250gb SSD + 2.5 TB HDD

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675W

MB: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Right now my OS is running on a partition on m SSD and games are installed on another partition on my SSD.

I'm just wondering if I should maybe bump up my ram to 12 or 16 gb seeing that games are starting to ask for 6GB of ram! I game at 1920 x 1080 resolution and I like to have all the bells and whisltes on but if I can't I do cut back. I know I won't be gaming at Ultra high setting but with my pc I'd like to think that I can install most games and play them, the way the developer intended so to speak.

thanks :)

Wait with upgrade, seeing games that require 6Gb of RAM doesn't say anything about upgrading into more than 8Gb of RAM, if it was the case everyone would upgrade their RAM since it's not expensive.

Also the 2500K and GTX770 is a nice combo, upgrading CPU might be nice but not until you're be required to.

You can SLI that GTX770 - that would be my best advice for future proof, but that as well will require SLI MOBO that costs about 100$.

DO NOT (!!!!) buy 1155 socket anymore! 1150 is newer (successor for 1155) and is going to last longer!

yes, it may be confusing, since the older model has higher number.

1150 supports new Hasswells, and will support future Broadwells wich are first 14nm desktop CPUs. 1155 is already dead.

@groowagon: I unfortunately do have a LGA 1155 motherboard and was actually thinking of going all out and getting another GTX 770 and going SLI!! Seeing as that doesn't seem to be such a good idea I think I may have to reconsider.

So would you recommend that I change my whole system to an LGA 1150 or should I just ride it out and wait for a proper NEED to upgrade?

@kraken2109: I'm gonna get my a mechanical keyboard soon (most probably the Corsair K60) so that is covered! My sound is a simple 2.1 setup which works well :)
