So with my specs in my signature, I was wondering if upgrading my PC was worth it atm. I got my hands on the FF14 beta over the weekend and at max settings it was running at about 35FPS.. I heard people pretty easily getting a stable 60FPS so I was wondering if maybe it was time I started making some changes to my rig.

Without bottlenecking, what do you guys think would be the first step in upgrading?

I would say get a new processor/motherboard now and then save your money for the new generation of cards (the AMD volanic island series is rumored sometime this winter and the nvidia maxwell series is rumored anywhere from March to July of 2014).

Both GPU series will be new architecture (which means a good 40-60% boost over current generation cards).

I have a 570.

So do you think it's best just to wait until March-July for these new cards rather than get a 7XX?

gtx 700 series will be okay but i dont see much of a point unless you want bleeding edge.

If your gaming at 1920x1200 or less than I would just wait. The GTX 570 is right around the level of the 7850/650 ti boost which are $160-180 card so you going to have to spend a good amount just to get a significant leap in performance. Not only that but games are still running on old engines/dev kits so its not like all the recent PC games are that demanding.

I would rather save your money, play games at good settings now, and buy the maxwell/volanic island series cards earl to mid of next year
