TF2 Blood&Gore

Recently have installed the Orange Box, and fully updated TF2.

And, to my suprise, the blood I had seen in game on my friends computer was not present. Instead there was some sort of yellow oil and when characters blew up, they would expell materials such as metal or tin cans.

I could live with this, but I would prefer to have the game as god intended :P.

Is there any way to fix this?

(Have tried the German blood fix, and so far no real result - have I done something wrong? [all files properly placed within folders etc etc])

Maybe you're playing it modded or something - I don't have this problem.

Maybe you have the parental control on, I think it's on the last tab of the options menu.ZuluEcho14

Sounds like you're playing on a modded server. Try switching up servers and see if the problem continues.

I know this 'cuz I sometimes play on a server that has "Party Mod" enabled, so when you die confetti and party hats and stuff fly out of your character. :P

If there is no real fix - Ill just have to deal with it I suppose. I have no idea why the German blood patch failed, TBH.

The bigger question is how can he even play TF2 to begin with, his ping must be in the 500s at least.

I have a 56k Internet line, but a high-end PC.

My ping normally stays below 100.
