It just told me I failed to meet the requirements for MOHA because I didn't have a Pentium D. ...I have a Pentium Dual Core, which is a type of Core2 Duo. (WTF?) Also, I can max the demo and still get a good FPS. Needless to say, System Requirements Lab is pretty broken. Is there anything similar out there that works? For those who don't know what I'm talking about, it's this: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

How bout the system requirements on the box? Look at it, see if your system meets them... Not that hard. Thats what all the old school gamers had to do before anything like SRL came out

It's just because your CPU is new and not recognised correctly by them. You can just look at the required configuration for your game vs what hardware you have and you will know if you can run it.

Actually it's pretty good, but the e2 series is new and not recognized properly. And it isn't really a core 2 because it only has 1 mb of cache.

I'm not worried about running MOHA, I'm just wondering if there is something like Sys Req Lab that actually works right.

Just use the place to refer newbies / know-nothings to, for them to get a copy of the inventory report, and ignore the "Pass- No Pass" judgments offered. For awhile there, they were doubling the core speeds on dual processors and reporting that P4-D CPUs were the equivilant of 6 GHz-plus single core P4s.

ok. You can at least OC 8500GT to work somewhat like 8600GT. Now what to do with SRL?

You need to OC the 8500GT core way past 1000MHz before it competes with 8600GT.

You will run fine MOHA. I played the demo @ 1024x768 & other settings @ high. It ran pretty well 20-40FPS on my pentium 4.

So you will run it smoother than me. Anyway I'm using 8800GTS 640MB

I hope there will come a time, when you will see, games aren't everything. What about video decoding, HDCP, ect...

We're talking about GAMES,not those things,we all know the 8500GT isn't a bad choice if you're not a gamer and into those things you mentioned, but for games, even 7600GS is better than 8500GT.

 It won't even get acceptable FPS with low settings @ 10x7...

If you're gaming,8500GT = n00b bait,especially since there are model's with 512MB and it supports Dx 10 (Even though it'll perform like crap,in both Dx 9 and Dx 10)

the only joke was that 8500 has an "advantage" of dx10.

if that's the final decision for someone to buy it for gaming, I think he deserves it. Cause he should do some research around it, and not believing a forum guy: "ZOMG, 8500GT has it's advantage of farting dx10. Buy it and you will have even more super cruicial farting powers....."

Maybe because they are not dual core?
