My PC runs pretty much fine 95% of the time, however about once every hour it slows to a crawl for about 1 minute.  It resembles an audio CD skipping when it does this, with games or DVDs going at about .5-1 frame per second.  It doesn't seem to matter what is running, it just does it at a regular interval regar dless of what I'm doing.  Does anyone know what could be causing this brief and predictably scheduled slowdown?  Rig is in the sig.  Thanks.

Does this happen when its at idle with no applications running? If so what I would do is run TaskMgr and see what process pops up(if any)during these anomiles.Make yourself familiar with the usual processes and note any new odd processes during the problem.I would track it down from there.Control-Alt-Delete will bring up the taskmgr, look under processes.
