If I remember correctly you can find them in your program folder and under the file name STEAM. You may have to look through the binaries to find it... But I am not 100% certain.
Really depends on the game. As stated above, a lot of the saved files can be found in the Steam folder, however there are a lot of games that will store them in "My Documents" and even under "Application Data".
