So whenever I launch a game.. At least with Batman Arkham Knight, it will launch the first time set-up... Which I always have to exit and then launch again because it gets stuck at the first step.

Any ideas for how to make this stop? It's annoying -_-

It happens to some of my games sometimes and eventually goes away on its own.

Have you tried to do a file verify ?

@saintsatan: this has been my experience as well

with that said, a restart usually helps. I don't mean a PC restart, but exit steam, then load it back up.

If that fails, do the "scan file integrity" option or whatever its called.

And finally, if fails, uninstall then reinstall.

Generally the first two options have always worked for me, though.

Pretty simple. Delete bm_installscript.vdf and all the installscript.vdf files in the directories of associated first-time start installers.

Neither of these options helps.

Sure you got them all? Without the installscript.vdf files Steam doesn't know to run any first-time installers (which is why these files exist). There are 4 you need to delete (1 in the root folder and 3 in the common redist folder). I usually delete these before running my games first time just to save time and it always works for me. If you just deleted the common redist folder itself too, there's nothing for it to run for the first-time setup.

Didn't get them all. Well it didn't run now when I launched Batman AK at least. Thanks. I'll try this on the other games as well.

Good to know about this. I get this problem as well.
