The game won't load. I tries, then fails and a message pops up saying it can't load because x-ray engine has stopped working. Is there any way I can get this game to work?

I had the same problem! I made sure steam wasn't running in compatibility mode (turned out it was) and once I fixed that the game worked like a charm The exact thing happened to me, just make sure steam isn't running in compatibility mode.

I went to Steam.exe, clicked properties, clicked the compatibility tab. The box is unticked for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'. Is that what you mean for compatibility mode, or did I check in the wrong place?
