hey guys, im wondering wich one your hyping more. id have to say spore myself, but then again i never realy played starcraft much. i onley tryed it2 or 3 years ago and i couldent stand to play it wich the graphics.00173
i was never a huge fan of starcraft but i admired the factionsin the game.....spore looks really new and refreshing unlike the sims.
i'm hyping both so i'd pick spore if ther was a poll *hint hint* just cause its unique.
I would love to hype Spore, but at this point, the game is all a few screenshots and limited movies. It has nothing else to show for it except for a release date that may now be pushed to March 2009. Spore is a game that I was big on because it was so ambitious, but now I am wondering if Wil Wright has finally bitten off more than he can chew. It was nowhere to be found at E3, which with EA pumping their causal focus, it had no presence.
Starcraft 2 is a force to be reckoned with, but I want to see some new gameplay ideas. I do not want to see a new tile set and a rehash of a game from a decade ago.

You can't really compare them. They are 2 different games.
i realize that starcraft was pretty revolutionary for its time but i mean come on, even warcraft3 is better than starcraft as an rts. spore is actually trying to create a new hybrid genre between rts and simulation. all starcraft2 looks like it is adding to the original is better graphics and larger battles. no offense to koreans but you seriously need to stop playing starcraft, that game is some s*** now the year is 2008, not 1998.
ive been following spore since early 06, and my hypemeter for this game has already overflowed.
Spore, solely because it comes out sooner, and the fact that ive never played Starcraft.
BTW to the guy above me, it seems like hes talking about hype, you can compare games easily that way. Since its only a popularity contest.
Starcraft 2. No way in hell will I let a relatively peaceful god game beat down a super-explosive ultra-fast paced RTS, that on top of it all has the most kickass map editor in history. I'm not saying it's going to be the greatest game ever, but SC2 will definitely be more long-lived than Spore.

is that a joke? you can argue about the awsome multiplayer in sc2, but longterm gameplay? isn't that the main focus of spore?
Spore and Starcraft 2 can't be ccompared they are entirely based on taste.. Thats of course when their released they live up to what is expected of them.sSubZerOo
He's not comparing them, he's asking which one people are hyping more about.
For me it has to be Starcraft 2 because I absolutely loved the original Starcraft and wondered for years why they never made a sequel.

A game doesn't have to be revolutionary to be good. If a game does what it sets out to do perfectly, it is a success. And just because a game is revolutionary does not mean it is automatically good. Spore could be an incredible game. It could also be a complete flop. Starcraft 2 is more likely to be a big success just based off of it's reputation and fanbase. And based on the quality of the original Starcraft + Brood Wars, it is very likely to be a good game.
If you don't like that particular genre, that's fine. But seriously, there can only be so many revolutionary games before its all been done before.

I don't think he was joking..starcraft is still being played 10 years later and EA will have released spore 3 by then so...
