From my experience, Any game saying a low Pentium D/ core 2 duo will also work on a High ghz Pentium4 with HT.

Meh, minimum and recommended settings as suggested by the developers are always subjective. That could mean minimum getting 5-10 fps on rock bottom lowest settings possible and the recommended set up getting crap fps with anything cranked up.

Easy requirements it seems. I can run more than recommended. Just wish they were also distributing Split/Second though Steam. After playing the PS3 demo 3 times I can't wait.

No problem meeting the requirements here but the thing that bugs me about releasing requirements is the vagueness of them. We always get Minimum and Recommended right erm yeah but Recommended to play at what settings ? I really think it is time the specification ritual was updated for it to actually be of some use. At least tell us what settings we can expect at low specs, what to expect at recommended specs and tell the damn truth about what is needed to run the game maxxed out.

Anyway sorry for the rant not too sure about split second it looks a bit too arcadey for my tastes.

In all honesty I think most of the time when they say recommended I think its whatever it defaults to. Which is usually your native (or close to your native) resolution and most games detect what settings the details and AA got to.

it usually medium settings and optimum system requirements are what it takes to max out (with 30+ fps @ 1680 x 1024 resolution)
