Hello. Whenever I hook my laptop up to the tv via HDMI, windows itself players audio fine. Some games (REmake)/(Sega Collection) work fine, but when other games are started up e.g. Megaman X... no audio starts..

Some games work fine, others don't play squat.

I've tried updated the nvidia drivers, checking the sound driver, no luck.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this'll help but:

Try and find what type of motherboard your laptop has.

Say it has ASUS, go to the site for ASUS and download audio drivers for the motherboard.

Have to say, never ran into a laptop issue like this. But last time I had an audio issue, I just did that and fixed everything.

____

Here is another thing I always to do get both sound on my speakers as well as via HDMI:

  1. Open Sound control panel
  2. Select Speakers as the default playback device
  3. Go to the "Recording" tab
  4. Right click and enable "Show Disabled Devices"
  5. A recording device called "Wave Out Mix", "Mono Mix" or "Stereo Mix" (this was my case) should appear
  6. Right click on the new device and click "Enable"
  7. Right click on the new device and click "Set as Default Device"
  8. Double click on the new device to open the Properties window
  9. Go to the "Listen" tab
  10. Click on the "Listen to this device" checkbox
  11. Select your HDMI device from the "Playback through this device" list

___

Maybe one of these things will help ya, not sure though...

I don't have "Wave Out Mix", "Mono Mix" or "Stereo Mix" etc... thanks for trying though.

In the end I just ended up running the audio through my laptop.

Yeah that stuff depends on what audio driver you have.

What kind of motherboard does your laptop have ? Does the website for it have any audio drivers you could install ? Or is that already checked off your list ?

Yes, I uninstalled it and used the website to reinstall it. Did bugger all.

HDMI works fine in windows mod but just turns off in fullscreen. Change it over to laptop speakers, no probs.
