I am enjoying the game, but it's no goty in my book. Why? yes it is awesome (oblivion seemed that way for 200 plus hours), yes it is huge (so was oblivion), lots of sidequests (oblivion did that too), good graphics (oblivion seemed that way too.).
Bottomline, skyrim is awesome, but personally, oblivion seemed that way too, until cracks started showing. I am more of a story guy, so I tend to check if a game's plot and writing, npc character and personalities, and story telling is up to par. Skyrim so far improved on everything oblivion did and more, but storyline, writing, plot and npcs are nothing to brag about. No bar raised any where, all bethesda was improved on an already existing formula.
Bottomline, the witcher 2 still holds the crown for me. why? because it had a world that really felt more alive. It wasn't a free roam game, but the npcs made the game come alive and the story was second to none. I will beat skyrim and play again, but I know I won't be thinking about the npcs, or the villains or the quests, or the story or question the choices I made. Witcher 2 did that for me and for that, it will remain at the top right next to baldur's gate 2 until another rpg shows up to dethrone it. Skyrim won't be that rpg.
