hi, i just got a new pc and installed skyrim again and moved my old saves.

When it's maxed out, it gives me 40fps, can i somehow get to 60?

my spec are:

i7 4790,asus z97-a, 16gb ram, gtx770

i disabled v-sync in the nvidia control panel but it's still the same.. would like to know if it's possible to get 60fps, what can i lower in the skyrim launcher so that it wont hurt the graphics, etc

Thanks!

You should get way more fps than that. try disabling hyperthreading in the bios.

That's just how it is,especially if you are running lots of mods. The engine is poorly optimized.

edit:

Enb will murder your frame rates. There are certain configs that can even bring a Titan to it's knees.(20 fps)

yes i forgot to mention that i have no mods in skyrim.

disabling hyperthreading did the trick! now i'm getting exactly 60! do i need to enable it back on, or i can leave it off at all time?

I wonder how some people got 100fps on skyrim with ultra settings?

I'm happy i got 60, but wonder why my system cant go beyond 60?

Is your monitor 60hz? Maybe you have v-sync enabled.

ok shutting off v-sync completely (in the nvidia control panel) was a bad idea, i got 130+ fps, bears were moving really fast and my horse went flying lol. i changed it back to adaptive, so everything is good i guess?

My settings in the nvidia panel are all on default (cept the v-sync, this one i changed to adaptive), should i change some other things to get the most out of my card?

Yeah, It's not wise to push Skyrim past 60 FPS.

The physics in the game gets all messed up. Just install some mods to offset the 60 FPS with some graphical improvements.

Try NFS Rivals, you'll get nowhere above 30.

You should be getting way more than 40fps. I was getting double that with a 2500k and 7970.

running mods and especially a enb will kill your fps, doesn't matter how powerful your computer is.

GTX 770 makes it high end PC? lol.. If you have the K version CPU overclock it.

This is highly unusual.

I never had troubles with my i7 4770K at skyrim. I got 60FPS with a GTX570 all time.

Hyper Threading has nothing to do with this game.

But since it worked this way...
