ok. hyper warlock. Think you been here long enough to know how make a real thread not a blog... Anyways game is fun and it has been smooth todayk2theswiss
This is good, the person I got it for is getting back from her vacation today, and she will prolly mess with it tonight, and really delve into it tomorrow.

thats good She won't have to put up with the servers soo much as It seems the worst part of server issue is past us... They went from 5 servers to 20 to choose from.[QUOTE="k2theswiss"][QUOTE="chrisrooR"]I've been able to actually login now, and I must say that it has its moments. There are more than a few bugs I've run into that really takes away from the experience, and the idea of specializations don't exactly work all that well. I find myself being alone in an area, not really being able to choose a specialization because it's contingent on OTHER players in the region helping out with other specializations. chrisrooRya the MP part is lackluster. Everyone is playing with single player mind set and They didn't do a good job rewarding people who does do it There's just no incentive to play together with random people. Why would I want to invest confidence in another person to sustain my electricity, sewage treatment, water supply, worker supply...etc. There's no point unless you're playing with friends through Origin; something I have very few of. And most people want to have casino cities or oil cities, so it doesn't help when there's no communication between cities (nobody really uses the global chat) and you're left guessing what someone else is going to specialize in. Not liking this forced multi-player at all.
110% agree

Done and done. We should try and get another GSer...you know what? I'm going to make a thread about it . Lets see how many people we can get. We should start a GSer region![QUOTE="k2theswiss"][QUOTE="chrisrooR"] There's just no incentive to play together with random people. I am sure she is gonna want to explore the single player stuff for a bit, (hasn't got to touch it yet) but after a while, she will prolly want to mess with the MP part of it.
I will run it by her of course, and let you all know if she would be up to something like that.

She has no friends on Origin yet, and I am not sure if I will get this game to play with her at the same time, and she is more than likely gonna want to try the MP aspect of the game as well.

Touche'The thing is people are not saying the game it self is bad there saying its the Online All the time DRM. The problem is for the single player thats what all this fuss is about not the game it self and not allowing you to play off line.
Yesterday I didn't have a single issue with the game. Today I went to continue and the city wasn't there. Looks like the games not fixed at all
It's not the servers that are bothering me (it hasn't been THAT much of an issue to me), but the amount of bugs in the game. They can really doom a city you spent countless hours on.Mochycyeah the germs are getting annoying, there's no way to get rid of them, even with the germ cleaning facilities in the hospital upgrade... it makes my sims and myselft really sad... and popping trees every few months gets annoying after a while...
I couldn't play for the first few days I got it, but ever since yesterday I've been having a lot of fun. No more connection issues(mostly) and I can finally enjoy and experiment with the game.
Hopefully they get to work on some bugs once this is all sorted out. The population to work ratio makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. Despite the fact I have dozens of garbage trucks and recycling trucks touring the city getting every single piece of garbage there is, the game still believes there is still a lot of garbage around creating germs. I'm also having another terribly annoying bug where my buses are all concentrated in the same area, so even with 16 buses and a population of only 25k, I'm getting 30+ minutes of wait time.
It's the traffic flow that is killing the complexity with the germ and bus problems mentioned above. Nothing to do about it for now until they fix the traffic. The only possible solution is to build the city as evenly distributed as possible with clinics, landfills, police, fire, industrial, commercial, and residential in every neighborhood. You can't build a large expensive medical center in the middle of the city and it work right.
The traffic just won't allow it.
Incidentally, I just realized today how much more useful it is to have multiple clinics and such than relying on upgrading one or two. I can't remember the exact costs, but I believe every extra ambulance costs $200 a hour, while the clinic only costs $400 an hour, gives extra patient rooms, and allows for quicker response throughout the city since they can be a different places. Something to think about. The prices seem like they were balanced by a crazy person.

I just placed more hospitals around my city and it fixed the problem with germs, atleast for now it has.
As im starting to analyze the game systems, traffic is by far the largest problem. I have a city of around 112,000 people with only a single clinic (and i can add another wing and two more ambulances). I have no health problems in the city. Large cities with poor traffic have issues where the ambulances simply can't get there fast enough to treat the sickly.
Same goes for garbage. 6 garbage trucks are enough for a my city.
Everything i do has to be under the pretense of improving traffic.
The most important thing i've found is that have as few intersections into avenues as possible. Traffic lights (due to intersections) are really killer to avenues. You are also better off having small "islands" off your avenues with only one point of entry. Multiple points off and unto an avenue will create intersections, and will encourage drivers to take the small roads over the avenues to actually get back unto the avenue.
Simcity drivers will take the shortest possible path, *NOT* the most efficient path. Often times, a smaller road is a slightly shorter path than the avenue, and they will all take it instead of the avenue.
When you create "islands" off the avenue, only the residents/workers will enter instead of people commuting through a longer distance.
so tempted.I couldn't play for the first few days I got it, but ever since yesterday I've been having a lot of fun. No more connection issues(mostly) and I can finally enjoy and experiment with the game.

[QUOTE="airshocker"]so tempted. I'm not going to install it until the issues are fixed, I am also tempted but don't want to be disappointed so I'll let them do their jobs and try to sweeten their pile of vomit before I decide to jump in.I couldn't play for the first few days I got it, but ever since yesterday I've been having a lot of fun. Allicrombie
Still no issues playign this weekend... tuesday, wednesday and thursday = horrible, tons of issues
Friday, Saturday and so far Sunday = zero issues and over 20 hours played during those 3 days.
Them increasing the servers by 120% has worked wonders from my experience.
