@BassMan:
I like to know as well :)
@horgen: Great monitor. I love my Alienware, but I will be looking to upgrade to a full-array HDR model at some point. Hopefully they come out with a fully featured HDR model soon (HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision).
While carrying the HDR 400 support tag I think, the requirement are awful so I am not considering it a HDR monitor.
Edit: It doesn't support some of the main things for HDR support, hence why I am not calling it a HDR monitor.
@horgen:
Nice monitor. I'm currently fine with my BENQ GW2765HT monitor but in the future when I build a new computer I will definitely get a 4K monitor with HDR support.
When I make the 4K jump, it will ultrawide 4K, so 5120*2160 I think.
I can never stomach the cost of paying so much for a monitor! I felt like with the fancy hdr10/dolby v I'm better off getting a cheap full array tcl 6 or pony up for a sony x900 line and then get a smaller fast refresh monitor. One for visual single player games and the other for competitive. I can see its still nice to have though for rpgs.
finally stopped being lazy and I'm making some small upgrades to my PC for now.... at least I don't have to spend a lot.
Snagged this 1070 new for $200
Next month I'm swapping cpus out. I scored a deal for a i7 4790k for $100 from a long time friend.
Will look to maybe swap off this completely later this year.
to the new ryzen maybe? not sure yet.

I was wondering what happened to you Kitty, welcome back to Gamespot.
Hey, that's my old GTX 1070 Gigabyte I had two years ago until I traded it for a PS Vita and now, running with a GTX 1080Ti. That 1070 is a very good GPU, I game in 1440p/60fps in most AAA games, it's a very great GPU you got for that price. As for CPU, you should most definitely try Ryzen cause I'm using 2700X and it's been a great CPU for me in terms of multitasking. But rumors is, AMD will be launching Ryzen 3000 series soon, better wait on that before upgrading.
I've been here, just mostly peaking about. Avoiding posting. But it's nothing the community did, just a change in my life.
I've gotten over it and i can say I'm back mostly. Thank you!!!
That would be one heck of a deal if it really was you haha. xD
I wanted a 1080ti. But... Funds and well my current cpu would bottleneck that. I've been at 1440p for awhile, but I haven't been able to play at the settings I'd like.
My card (GTX 970) is struggling in some games especially when use some enb/sweetfx. I figure it was time to grab a 1070 while they are cheap. This $200 one makes it a even better deal than a 1660ti.
And I wouldn't want a base 1660ti if I was getting one. The others move too close to a RTX 2060 price. SO it made the 1070 choice a no brainer for me.
I wanted a 2700x. But I decided to wait on the 3000 series. :)
I got a nice deal from a long time friend. a 4790k for $100. That should hold me off until I save up for later.
I need a new tower too.
AMD is looking great finally on the CPU side of things, makes me happy. :D
@kitty: I don't see any LEDS on it. D=

Monitors have certainly gone up in price the last decade. But also got so much better :D
Sleeper. £230 total. Does 4K pretty well depending on the game.
I have another computer with a 4790K & Radeon 7 but i rarely game on it because i get nearly no difference in performance because i normally game at 1080P, this is just VSR 4K which really is at 4K but i only see a downsampled image.
@superfluousreal: You still have spaces/room for old floppy drives?
Yeah, the card only just fit though, a quarter of it is in the lower bay drives haha!
It's a dead silent machine, love it, i can literally throw it anywhere out of sight without needing to be bothered about it standing out because i overspent on a case for looks over function. :)

Dead silent? What do you got the fans running at?

It has some on the logo and fan off wording :v
Not the best picture. But I wanted to show that this thing is massive, it's longer than the mobo
This will look much cleaner (the case/tower) in a month or two.
I plan to get a new case finally.

They are running PWM so they only spin up when temps rise but they are Noctua fans, they are utterly silent even at full go.

We have very different opinion on what is silent I think.
I got some fans at 500 rpm and complain about them...
@ronvalencia: Congrats. Tried OCing it?
@kitty:GPUs are supposed to be massive :P
CPU is overclocked to 4.5Ghz. GPU is default to factory overclock.

Default overclock? So running closer to 2000Mhz then? The auto clock system by Nvidia pushed my RTX2080 close to 2000Mhz out of the box at least.

Out-of-the box, reached 2Ghz, usually 1.9xx Ghz at 95 percent usage.
At 1.9Ghz, it yields about 16.54 TFLOPS FP32.
At 2.0Ghz, it yields about 17.41 TFLOPS FP32.
----
RTX 2080 at 2025 Mhz would yield about 11.9 TFLOPS FP32
Well this one does an excellent job at keeping this card cool.
When does the Horgen Edition of cards come out :3
I upgraded recently. RTX2080. Well almost half a year ago I think. Waiting on a new monitor now. Maybe a month or so left to wait.

~70 degrees Celsius or ~158 degrees Fahrenheit with BattleField V 4K HDR

I was about to say that's hot, but not everyone is running water cooling. I assume the noise level is low at that temp...?
Noise level is low and there's a sound card below the GPU. GPU's temps are in the acceptable range.

Nice I saw. I bet you love the performance it gives you.
Looking to move from here still or else I'd have a much better rig.
Hope you show it off :3

Plenty for 60Hz monitor. I am getting a 144Hz monitor this spring though. Hopefully it being freesync won't mean any trouble with my nvidia card

Nope you can use freesync on a nvidia card
I think if you have a freesync monitor you can enable gsync somehow and use that. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I've been seeing on the net.

Some are certified supported. This one isn't, but I should be able to manually enable it. I hope the range goes down to 50Hz or even less.
So. If 34 inch isn't big enough as a gaming monitor, you can always get LG 38 inch. It's just a mere 3840*1600 at 144Hz, OC possible up to 175Hz. If you like to give your neck a real work out, you can always opt for the even bigger Samsung. 49 inches with 5120*2160 res at 120Hz.
Here is my build. Still doing some other mods to it as I am not completely satisfied with it, but couldn't wait to boot it up a while back. Just haven't touched in awhile. I have everything RGB though from the mouse, keyboard, mousepad to even the headset stand. All of it is Corsair. I will update with more pics as my setup becomes more neat and I have the time outside of work to organize it.
Also, I will get better photos outside of my iPhone. lol

@BassMan: The front is really all rainbow. lol However, it does look really cool playing games such as Far Cry New Dawn, Division 2, etc. as the RGB changes to what is going on in the game. And yes...I do game on a 2990WX sometimes. lol Pretty neat. 24 total fans in that thing.

Thanks...that thing hurt my wallet as well.
@AcidTango: @BassMan: That hitting the PCB with screwdriver... It was painful to watch :P
So funny though. I had never seen one of his videos. He did a great job with the fakes and his personality throughout the video was great.
Me neither. Random find.
Oh yes, I totally forgot to show off my new toy!!!
Ah MSI and their massive wide cards. That card must be twice the size of my old GTX 680 from MSI.
