I have vista, and everything to run Halo 2, and therefore can run Halo: CE as well.

But I was wondering... Should I buy Halo, or Halo 2? I'm leaning towards halo 2, for more weapons and graphics, but am unsure for Multiplayer. I have Games for Windows - Live Gold.

Any advice?

Don't get Halo 2 unless you find it very cheap.

Very Cheap?... What do you mean?, Money-wise, I can afford the 29.99, and don't mind the 'crappy' ending that comes with it. As I am more for multi-player.

I think what he's saying is, it's not really worth full price. The point is, there's so many better shooters on the PC so why waste your time with Halo?

halo 2 mp is probably dead now. Halo 1 mp is still active. If you *really* need to play Halo for some strange reasons, get the first one.

I would say no. By PC standards, they aren't very good games.

I'd like a halo game because I myself find it fun. I know there certainly are better shooters out there, but I don't really know anything, or what the gaming experiance would be like. I know a bit of halo 2 from my firends xbox.

well, if it's under $5 go ahead--if you're expecting amazing dx10 graphic that is. Halo 2 does need Vista to run it, but its graphic is simply extremely outdated. for me, the game itself isn't anything special, we have better native PC shooters.

Look at every shooter that came since mmm 2004 and that scored more than 4 on 10 in gamespot and you will have something better than Halo

C'mon, halo isn't that bad. I don't care about graphics, or it being a port, since I haven't really played it at all. Just a few split screen games with my friends.

Halo 2 is a decent game (at least, going by my experience on the Xbox version), but for a 2004 game that came out several years late on the PC, it's probably not worth your time and money.

Other choices you could check out would be Battlefield 2 Deluxe Edition, Battlefield 2142, Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike Source, and The Orange Box.

I've thought about the Orange Box, and my PC, prolly won't run Crysis. The others I could consider.

Buy all of the FPS games better than the Halo games (probably 30 games at least) and if you're still hungry for FPS games after, buy both Halo and Halo 2, and play them in order.

Ok, so here are the standings: It's either Halo 1/2, or Orange Box, Or persuade me to a different item.

Halo 2, so I can practice and beat my friends.
Halo - Same, but not same game as they play.
Orange Box, Gotta be something in there. I've heard a lot about TF2, Portal might be good, and Half-Life, Never really heard of it.

Ignore the haters. Many PC gamers think of themselves as too elite to admit to enjoying a lowly console game like Halo, but the original is actually a fairly good game. The weapons are well balanced, it was one of the first FPSs in which you aren't a walking arsenal and can only carry a couple of guns, it was also one of the first (but not the first) shooters to include vehicles, and the campaign is excellent during its outdoor portions, but gets bogged down by some Doom-like corridor crawling in its later portions. It was also incredibly fun to play in co-op, although this doesn't carry over to the PC version. The PC version does however have improved DX9 graphics and precise kb/m control.

The Halo sequels, however, are complete crap and best avoided entirely. It's kind of like the Matrix: the first one was a farily good movie as a standalone despite having some shortcomings and being massively overrated by its rabid fanbase, but the sequels were garbage.

The Orange Box >>> Halo > Halo 2.thusaha

Where one > means another game... lol. But I'd like a multiplayer with better graphics than TF2, and Halo/2 have slightly better graphics and more maps. Not to poo-poo on graphics here, it's just, I spent a few months on WoW and want more stunning games for a break. Halo is more stunning than WoW, but still old graphics.

Were you joking when you said you've never heard of Half-Life?

If not then you need to download Steam right now and buy Half-Life 1 and 2, because you missed two of the greatest games of all time on any platform, and easily the two greatest shooters of all time.

Yes, All things considered I might still go for halo. But, in the end I might end up buying H2, and Orange Box later. I'm moving into high school, so I'll likely get more homework starting September. So 5 games may be too much. Halo 2 seems to me like nothing more than a more current version on Halo 1. And Halo 3 will be expected on PC by 2012 no doubt.... yeah.

Heard of it, don't know what it's like, and I like multiplayers. I'll play it one of these days.

Lol, ok then, guess I'll chip in an extra 10 dollars and get orange box. Guess beating my friends at halo can wait for another 20 games of my kils at 0, and theirs at 24 and 25.

Does it have multi-player? or is it Single Player, with TF2 being the only online one?

Counter-Strike is more or less the multiplayer for Half-Life 1/2.

You should get CS: Source. I'm not a huge fan of TF2 myself.

M`Kay, still might just settle for Orange Box. I originally just planned on getting Halo so I could practice and beat my friends.

Halo 1 multiplayer is still very active. It's one of my favorite pc multiplayer games.

Don't know about Halo 2 as I don't have vista.

I have both games and if you have to choose between em get halo 1. Halo 2 is already dead, runs like crap despite the horrible graphics, has lots of restrictions for non glod members (you cant create your own servers or join user created ones so youll always have to playon shipped maps of wich youll be bored after two seconds) And the SDK is pure garbage Halo has cool multiplayer and Custom EDition rocks. (some modders have even included weaps and models and maps form halo 3 and 2) and the community is gr8. On halo 2 there are only mic ppl shouting all the time. halo 1 campaign is better two By the way, if i were you iwouldnt get any of these but counter strike instead, also there are a crapload of great free games such as warsow on the internet that nobody has ever heard about www.warsow.net

NOLF 1 and 2? They are, very good games. You can probably find them on Amazon, especially via the Marketplace for very cheap.
