Shadow Warrior, way better then I expected

It seems much rarer nowadays that a game that looks meh from the outset surprises me.  The new shadow warrior, so far at least, is one of them.  The visuals are drastically nicer then what they appeared in screenshots, the combat and swordplay actually seem to work, and most importantly the game has decent sense of immature humor coming from lo wang like the original build engine shadow warrior.  Also I found a few secret areas, so hopefully that keeps going too

On a negative note though, it would seem SSAO kind of hurts performance for some people. I'm using a quad core and a gtx 780 and I've found that at max settings and 1920x1080 there are a few areas where the fps dips a bit. Lowering ssao from ultra to medium seems to fix that right up though without actually hurting the visuals in anyway I could notice

It is a fun game, im at chapter 10 and liking the game so far but I do feel like the melee combat could have been done a lot better.

Not seeing the hype personally. I thought the game was a solid 7 out of ten. I could state why the game is not much better than a 7 but I cant be assed.

Why would I state I've played the game if I haven't. Now you're just blatently accusing someone of lying with no proof, that's not very clever is it. I guess you never learned to be "right" about anything and you are probably always wrong. The hype I'm referring to is the overly positive feedback the game is receiving from players.

Will play it when I can get it for like 10 bucks. Definitely not a 40 dollar game. Not for me.

Loved the original. Spent many late nights deathmatching on it. I'll pick up the new version once the price drops some. Maybe during the Steam winter sale.

I really like it as well. I have used nothing but the Katana the entire time and have had a blast

It's the kind of shooter that when you push it, it pushes back. It's refreshing a FPS that feels you are actually playing it. I like the dodge thingy.

Pretty awesome game from the 3 hours I played today, but at the same time Its not GOTY or anything atleast for me.

Love the art design and the gameplay is fun to, looking forward to buying it in the future for myself.

However, I was a major fan of the original game, actually of the Build Tri-fecta (Blood, and Duke Nukem as well) 

I hear this game is a much better attempt than Duke Nukem Forever.  So it is gonna be something I get, just down the road.

Yeah thats on your rig, which is much more powerful than mine :P

My current rig is over 5 years old with upgrades (cpu/gpu/psu) and it is showing its age in modern games, but still running relatively strong considering. 

I also game at 1080p, so that would prolly be much worse for me. 

I have a Q6600/4GB Ram/570GTX and it runs very well...actually was pretty damned impressed with how well the game runs on my computer pretty much maxed out @ 1980X1050. Anyways game is fantastic...wild hog really outdid themselves this time.Renevent42

Hmm if you are getting good performance on your rig, I should get similar. As we both have 4gb of RAM ddr2.  and GTX570.

I hope this game doesn't flop in sales. It seems to have a bigger budget than Hard Reset but it didn't get to steams No1 sellers even on launch day which kinda sucks.

Gonna wait till it gets a little lower in price before buying it. But I'm glad the developers managed to make another great game. That reminds me, I need to play Hard Reset soon. Miroku32

I guess I see Hard Reset and Serious Sam as similar  games.  I spent a whopping $3 to find out I don't really like Serious Sam 3.  So, if Serious Sam 3 and Hard Reset are similar?  And Hard Reset was made with some of the same developers as Shadow Warrior?  Is it safe to believe that I won't like Shadow Warrior if I didn't like Serious Sam 3?

I'm not trying to pick on any of these games.  I'm just pointing out SS3: BFE doesn't do it for me.  It was either that or Hard Reset during the Summer sale.  Perhaps I would've liked Hard Reset and really like Shadow Warrior.  Any validity to my comparisons here?

I didn't play Hard Reset. During the Steam Summer Sale I w as going to get one or the other. I ended up getting Serious Sam 3. I didn't like it. So, my question is if I didn't like Serious Sam 3 does it stand to reason that I wouldn't like Hard Reset? Hard Reset is a much better game than SS3. Play on Insane abd it's basically the Dark Souls of FPS. Very hard but fair.
