I have a good PC, my graphics card i s teh 7600GT, a good mid point card.  I tried to play STALKER with everythign hih at 1680x1050, bad move.  So i lowered the res and played with some settings, and now it runs smooth.  But i want to increase the stuff, like the lighting.  SO i want to know waht Graphics card is recomennded to run stalker.  I was thinking of getting the 8800GTX anyway and i know thats powerful enough lol.

8800 GTX is fine. Provided you have the stones for it. I'd recommend a 8600 GTS, more bang for your buck, and doesn't go overpriced.

Yeah the ATI cards.  Im waiting for those as well, but i will probably get the 8800GTX over them unless theres a big

improvement in the ATI cards.

yea i bought the 8800 gts, im overly satisfied with it. the gtx is overpowered imo. the 8800 gts 640 is a fantastic card and you wont have any trouble running anything. i would recommend it 100%

I would highly reccomend the GeForce 8800 GTS 640M model it will last you a long while and it can be pretty managly over-clocked to match a GTX and later on you can just buy a 2nd one and put them in SLI mode as long as you got the support for it with your motherboard and such.....saves ya over $100 it was an easy decision for me that $100 got me more ram.

and of course some more cards will come out here by summers end that will out-perform the 8800 of course thats just enevitable with any technology you buy...but those cards will also be $450++++ so you might as well just get what you can get and just know that the 8800 Series is a powerful card and will last far down the road for you.

Well i'll see.  I'll probably wait for more news or benchmarks ( actual good bench marks ) for the ATI cards coming first, than

make a move.

88009 GTS 320 MB for $260 at NewEgg is the best bang for your buck that I've found.  FAR better than a $200 8600.

If you have a ton of money to burn so you can run all games smoothly on full, get the new 8800 Ultra for $999.

Yeah!  My 8800 GTS 640 MB runs STALKER maxed with AA on at 60 FPS (VSync Enabled to eliminate tearing).
