I'm looking for a good D&D/RPG game. I've played Oblivion, which I loved the free roam of it. I've played Baldur's Gate, and Dragon Age. What I'm looking for is a game with a long gametime like Baldur's Gate, but free roam like Oblivion. I have a Windows 7, so im hoping that something will work for that. Or the consoles I own are the Xbox 360 and the Playstaion 2. Any ideas?

I don't think there is a game like you're saying. You can try NWN II It's epic.

Diablo is about as hardcore as you can get, besides roguelikes such as Adom and Nethack.

D&D: online: eberron unlimited

dragon age: origins

the witcher

guildwars + expansions

TES: chapter 4: oblivion + expansions

those would be the ones to get.. the others pale in comparison

nwn and diablo while they are rpg's just arent thought promoting enough..

another good one if you enjoy the complexity of D7D is ff11 and 14 however both are rpg's and both are VERY VERY VERy time consuming..

if anything id wait on guildwars 2 sooner :

I've heard that Fallout New Vegas (Xbox 360) is a good RPG. You should try it!

Your best bet is probably Fallout 3.

Some close but not quite options are Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Planescape: Torment. You can get them all from Good Old Games. (www.gog.com)

You could play the Elder Scrolls games, Oblivion is pretty much a downgraded version of those with better graphics. Planescape, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and The Witcher are all good choices.

Your best bet is probably Fallout 3.

A poor version of Fallout and Fallout 2, especially when it comes to RPG elements and exploring. Better to start with the first two, or New Vegas even.

There aren't any free roam D&D games that I'm aware of, you could try NWN2 and it's expansions (it also has numerous community created single player adventures available at nwnvault.com and on-line perpetual worlds...kind of like mini MMOs).

I suggest checking out GOG.com since they have plenty of clas.sic D&D RPGs

http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#rpg/

I recommend the following

Neverwinter Nights 2

Drakensang

Risen

The Witcher** you might not like the combat**

Demons Souls PS3**this game is little to no story..its all combat**

Divine Divinity- awesome game

Or if you want to give Oblivion another go... I suggest this amazing mod.

Neverwinter Nights 1 with some of the highest-rated mod campaigns on nwvault.com. You'll never run out of complex D&D gaming goodness.
