Risen 2 box art has red taken out by ESRB

They practically destroyed the visual appeal of the cover, such a stupid problem over a game that has a BIG M in the corner, but I guess these days we have to be careful of mature games having too much blood or devs trying to trick people into believing a mature game might have more blood than the game really contains... This is just like the bs Dee Snider had to take, people try to be entertaining and express certain things with their "art", then some random person from the government or organizations that control content come out with their random ideas, like how they believe it might be interpreted as something related to child abusers, psychopaths, etc.

this is news? i understand the rule exists to prevent some kind exploitation (offensive imagery, or something else perhaps) but it's fine, there's plenty of art within the game. if it's not ON the box (which i won't see anyway since i'll get it digital if i do) it doesn't matter

Good job ERSB, the original cover with the red color was really too much.. ..oh wait, it's only edited in NA. Guess I will still be traumatized.

Honestly, blood or not this is still a pretty awful cover. I don't agree with the ESRB's decision mind.

They should make on of those dual sleeve covers, where the inside has a different print so you just swap it and bam, original cover...

Skull with a bullet hole in it is okay, but red coloring that may or may not be interpreted as blood is bad? Makes sense.

I don't see the problem with censoring the box art (though it does make it look bad and I don't really think the original box art was "graphic"), people of all ages and types will see the box art of games so it makes sense that they would be strict on their censorship guidelines. Plus I mean honestly who even buy's non-digital games these days ;)
