I'm thinking of maybe upgrading one or two components in my PC.  What component do you think would provide the most cost-effective upgrade for upcoming games?  My current rig is in the sig.  Thanks.

Processor (depending on what your mobo can handle), then Video Card, then RAM.

I'd get a dual core Proc, then another gig of RAM... If you were being fussy you could get another GFX card, but I don't think you need it...

So is it recommended that if I bother upgrading anything, I should go all the way with a new Mobo and Intel Core Duo, or would the AMD Athlon X2 that fits with my current mobo (socket 939) be worth the upgrade?

You'd need new RAM as well if you went with a Socket LGA775 motherboard and Core 2 Duo.

Honestly, there's no point in upgrading to a S939 X2 since AMD has abandoned S939.
