Just cause it looks good doesn't mean it will play good.ForsbergFan21Maybe, but there's no "just looks good" game on that list. All are made by experienced devs looking good+ good devs= most likely play good :)
I am also looking forward to some of these titles that are not on the list;
"Keeping your credibility"- by Random Developer
"Burning your bridges, and fans"- by The False Advertisements
"Wheres the graphics?"- by Game-play
"Beat the pirates, make crappier games"- by Irony
"Positive cash flow"- by Carlton Sheets
"Duping your loyal fans, twice"- by Pwned
"Really good game guys"- by Gamezilla
"I thought you would like it"- by Watered Down Studios
"Successful sequels"- by Dum-down
"Hit me baby one more time"- by Rehashhash
"Im a hype machine"- by OMFGScreenshots
"Whos your daddy?"- by The Milking Process
"Depth and replayability?"- by FabulousGraffixth

haven't heard of those...must be console ports.
:P
At first it seemed like 2006 would be a great year for vrai-RPGs, but now it seems like a lot of them are getting delayed and pushed back, Bioshock and Witcher being some examples. Has Dragon Age officially been delayed until 2007 then? I don't remember seeing any official announcements, though with Bioware thats always a possibility.greatatlantic
Since Oblivion came out this year and Gothic 3 should be out in September (hell, maybe even NWN 2 will be good), 2006 actually has turned out to be a great year for RPGs.
well thanks alot for making such a list, i lost tracking of upcomming games long ago out of frustration actually but cool, i been always a pc gamer rather than a console fan.. btw i guess HL2 - episode two should come out 07
PC games are great but doesn't it suck you have to pretty much keep ur PC up to date and spend much much more to play good games like these?

no
i buy a top of the line system and i wont have to even upgrade it for 2 years. and i wont need another PC for probably close to 4 or 5 years. i'll be able to play all these great games in good detail with minimum number of upgrades. i don't know where the idea came from that PC users upgrade every other week just to play games.
and if i'm not playing games, i'm burning DVD's, listening to mp3's, emailing, writing docs, doing work, editing videos...etc.
Wheezal's right. I got my current computer in 2003 it's a P4 2.53. In that time (three years ago) I've upgraded 1.5 times.
Alright the .5 is for me adding an extra 1GB of Ram to it, bringing it to 1.5GB. I don't count adding memory as upgrading as such. So I've replaced two items on the board (graphics and sound) and added a second hard drive. If you do your homework and shop around YOU can upgrade a pc without it costing you the price of the current generation of consoles (I think I bought an xbox at the time as well, but that's long gone!).
Plus the PC is good for other stuff too of course as Wheezal pointed out. Remember don't be afraid to open up the computer once in a while. It does it good if you take a hand held vacuum around the insides too.
PS - Thanks for creating this thread, I didn't know about 98% of those games and I'm so going to be looking into Star Trek Online. I'll sell my grandmother to play that for a year if a) it's any good and b) she was still alive. Lol never mind.
DirectX 10 is going to kill Xbox360

Amen to that.
Choosing a moment to get a good PC should set you up for 2 or 3 years. Back in 2003 I had an Athlon XP 3200+ which lasted till 2006, even now I could play oblivion on it pretty good with it, even though it only supported AGP.
Besides on your spare time should be used for working, and you still can use your computer for that.
Looking at the news of US and Iran relations over Iran's reasons and rights in pursuing a nuclear programme. It might be a good idea to pack in as much gaming time in 2006 and 2007Â as possible, because if Bush carries out his threat and precision bombs Iranian suspected hotspots in a bid to neutralise it's nuclear capacity. We may not be here in 2008 to enjoy our pleasures if Russia and China, being seriously miffed at the cavalier way in which their economic trading buddy has been violated, and retaliates!
Would make all this gaming chatter seem kind of irrelevant.   Â

Well China and America is a big trading partner too, so maybe they won't retaliate straight away. This is really off the subject of upcoming games for 2007 but I do see your point.
Reason why it isn't worth to be a PCgamer in coming years:
how much you gonna spend for a high-end PC?
Kensai_Akira
nothing, i already have a high end PC that owns any console. and it will last me a good 2 years before an upgrade and a good 4 to 5 years before i need another PC.
wow, this sounds really redundant..maybe it's because we already went over this point earlier in the thread and some people don't read the posts?
FYI:Â You miss spelled Turn Based combat in the Afterfall description.greatatlanticthx. BTW...everybody who values their good taste needs to watch the Cassius Pearl trailer http://www.adventure-eu.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=226&Itemid=51 amazing stuff :)
the lists lacks those two because they are slated for 2006 release and this is 2007 thread. You can find both of those games in 2006 thread :)^ Dude the Strategy section you have lacks some instant bestsellers to be out this year!!! case in point:
Age of Empires III: The WarChief's Expansion
Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends. No strat game list for this year is complete without those two titles.

[QUOTE="kayne2000"]you forgot spore that game looks like it will own.bob_rulz
Spore is supposed to be released later this year, not next year.
But 2006 and 2007 look like the best years for PC gaming in a long, long time. Hail the return of PC gaming! Instead of just sequels/spinoffs, like it's been in the past few years, the next couple of years look to bring us a good mix of sequels and fresh, original franchises.
I believe the date was pushed back to early next year, actually, but I could be wrong
