Why the hell would your school need all that?
And are you a student or faculty?
Did they just give you like a $10,000 and tell you to go crazy? lol

Hey, can you sneak few pictures of that monster rig for us? :P Read the post above, i'm not allowed in the room anymore :([QUOTE="GTR2addict"] they told me to choose the parts, the budget was on them, no boundaries. i didn't choose 2x 5970's because they weren't out when this got built and yes, main partsSprozelth
Decided to do a little update on my rig.
As you can see, I also have my homework "arranged" in a systematic pattern throughout my room as well. And that pen on my desk should give it away where I am studying.
[QUOTE="GTR2addict"][QUOTE="NSR34GTR"]^ you can see gtraddict's avatar on your screen :PNSR34GTRis that a good or bad thing? :P lol i dont know :P I'm interested in knowing, after all that IS my special someone :P
For something a little different - my Ion-based HTPC's Windows rating:
I didn't even know processor ratings went that low! My main computer (X2-7750) manages 6.7 and it's not exactly a speedy processor.
Still, can't argue with a PC that plays HD video smoothly and only eats up about 50 watts.

well do we count work PC's? cause if so mine blows anything in this thread away... as payment for that dell lollipop laptop ad we made all of us on the job got a 5000 dollar budget from dell to buy parts for our new pc at manufacturer price, not retail. can't take any pics cause theres far to much stuff in the office that can't be released yet, but...
2 intel xeon 6 core processors
24 gigabytes corsair 2133 ddr3
four PNY Nvidia quadro fx5800's
6 500 gb 10,000 RPM HDD's
some mobo i don't even know i requested the rest of the parts and dell said this'll fit
3 120 hz 30 in. dell monitors
i was still below my budget so dell threw in some 150 dollar retail sound card, agian, no idea here, and the company agreed that they would come within 100 dollars of our 5k budget
250 dollar water cooling radiator
2 100 dollar cooling blocks for my xeons (clocked to 4.4)
1 90 or so dollar pump
lots of fluid to last me forEVER
all shining in some no name dell case that has a large number of flashy green LED's.
that twas by far the best job ever. the result?
well when i used xfire to take a video of cod:waw max settings max AA, i reached it's recorder's max framerate of 500. soo....... idk how fast it is. i get maximum scores on just about every benchmark though.
