only one actually, it's the 3d design Cla$$ pc
it's locked inside a room inside a room with 3 heavy locks and bulletproof glass

of course i helped in building it :D
it's an i7 920 @ 3.9 GHz
cooled by a Xigmatek HDT-S1283V Dark Knight
12 GB DDR3 1600 MHz Corsair Dominator 9-9-9-20
Quad SLI EVGA Cla$$ified GTX 285's
eVGA Cla$$ified 4-way SLI motherboard
all housed inside a coolermaster cosmos S case
along with a 150 GB Raptor
the 500+GB movies are stored in the school's NAS network (which has over 30 TB)

Why the hell would your school need all that?
And are you a student or faculty?
Did they just give you like a $10,000 and tell you to go crazy? lol

*comments on above liquid-cooled setup in the Corsair Obsidian 800D* 9.5/10. I really like the case (fairly sleek rather than tacky/gaudy/"ricer" and roomy, but rather expensive for most people), and you also get points for the liquid cooling, especially if it's not too noisy. Heck, the only thing keeping you from a 10/10 would be the lack of i7 and a DX11-capable graphics card, but those wouldn't be practical upgrades anyway for a setup like that. Well, there is one unknown-what hard drive(s) are you using? I see nothing like that in your sig.

Hi Nameless Player: Regrettably, I'm only using two 7200rpm 1 TB hard drives (seagate). So no insane bootup speed for me. Then again, I'm content with the current speed (windows 7 is so much faster than vista in terms of bootup for me).

Still better than what I've got (only a single WD Caviar Blue 500 GB), especially if all those complaints on the Internet about Seagate drives being very prone to failure are false. (Then again, Maxtor gets a lot of crap, even accusations of ruining Seagate after they got acquired, and I still have this old 10 GB PATA drive that still functions to this day in spite of that.) I've also wanted to experiment with RAID, but it pretty much requires two IDENTICAL drives. I've never had two drives of the same capacity, let alone the same model. Furthermore, I wasn't sure if any speed gains with RAID 0 would be worth the risk of total data loss with just one drive failure, and that the ideal way to go may be an even more expensive three-drive setup in RAID 5. What are your experiences with it? (All I know is that I need more storage, and it needs to be fast!)

Decided to do a little update on my rig.

As you can see, I also have my homework "arranged" in a systematic pattern throughout my room as well. And that pen on my desk should give it away where I am studying.

For something a little different - my Ion-based HTPC's Windows rating:

I didn't even know processor ratings went that low! My main computer (X2-7750) manages 6.7 and it's not exactly a speedy processor.

Still, can't argue with a PC that plays HD video smoothly and only eats up about 50 watts.

Cant believvvvvve the fastest pc here is an Alienware

ssaadd123

well do we count work PC's? cause if so mine blows anything in this thread away... as payment for that dell lollipop laptop ad we made all of us on the job got a 5000 dollar budget from dell to buy parts for our new pc at manufacturer price, not retail. can't take any pics cause theres far to much stuff in the office that can't be released yet, but...

2 intel xeon 6 core processors

24 gigabytes corsair 2133 ddr3

four PNY Nvidia quadro fx5800's

6 500 gb 10,000 RPM HDD's

some mobo i don't even know i requested the rest of the parts and dell said this'll fit

3 120 hz 30 in. dell monitors

i was still below my budget so dell threw in some 150 dollar retail sound card, agian, no idea here, and the company agreed that they would come within 100 dollars of our 5k budget

250 dollar water cooling radiator

2 100 dollar cooling blocks for my xeons (clocked to 4.4)

1 90 or so dollar pump

lots of fluid to last me forEVER

all shining in some no name dell case that has a large number of flashy green LED's.

that twas by far the best job ever. the result?

well when i used xfire to take a video of cod:waw max settings max AA, i reached it's recorder's max framerate of 500. soo....... idk how fast it is. i get maximum scores on just about every benchmark though.
