I now have a 4890. Please rate my rig and tell me what you think about my cable mangement, is it any good for a first time builder?
Antec 300, Corsair 520hx, Biostar AM2+ mobo, AMD 940 processor, Sapphire 4890 at 870mhz core clock and 1050mhz memory clock, Western Digtal black 500gb HD, 4gb G skill 1066.
tell me what you think about my cable mangement, is it any good for a first time builder?>RecontrooperLooks pretty good to me. It does look like you've got mopre cables than you need coming out of your PSU though. Also it looks like you may have just stuffed the additional cables in the front. Good for a first build.

I have 2 sata cables 1 going to the HD and the other to the DVD drive and then one for all the fans, and then 2 pci express going to the video card. Also about the cables in front I used a adhesive clip to hid the main MB cord and then the 8 pin cpu power cord I followed with the MB power cord and then hid in the two 5.25 drive bays since i only have 1 dvd drive. Would It look better to route that one 8 pin cable with the rest to the little tuck spot behing the hdd bays.
Yeah Recon I'm liking that rig!I now have a 4890. Please rate my rig and tell me what you think about my cable mangement, is it any good for a first time builder?

Yeah Recon I'm liking that rig! Thanks alot!Ok heres some better ones:
this is with 15 sec exposure and no iso at all
much better, looks nice man.Just built this setup for my self, had a budget of £500-600 haven't really benched it much I do get the frames listed below.
Crysis Warhead 1280-1024 4xAA:
- Very High 25-30fps average
- High30-40fps average
I also benched Halflife 2 and recieved 247FPS everything pushed to the highest, all said and done this doesn't dissapoint me what so ever especialy for the price and here are the specs and pics:
AMD Phenom II 550 overclocked to 3.3ghz and unlocked to a quad core, XFX HD 4890core clock 870mhz, Kingston 2x2Gb 2x532mhz, Gigabyte MA790X UD3P, OCZ ModXStream 600w, Seagate baracuda 7200.11 1GB HDD and a coolermaster elite 335. Also replaced the standard heatsink/fan with a Titan Fenrir.
Im planning on throwing in two Akasa apache fans for intake/exaust along with spray painting the insides black and fitting in some UV tubes along with a windowed side panel that I found for the case... just to make it purty :P.
sorting out your cables improves air flow. is your cpu cooler meant ot be like that? ive never see none facing that way :PNSR34GTRThats what im going to do when I mod out the thing soon, also somehow I found that it cools better this way by 1-2C I dont know what will happen to that when I stick in a front intake fan.

agreed. i was talking to basicPushed it from 3.3ghz to 4.1ghz and got it running for around 4 hours on prime95 but its too hot, also my 3Dmark06 score jumped by almost 2000!?... seems like the sweet spot forthe550with atitan fenrircooler and a Gigagbyte MA790X UD3P motherboard is 3.6ghz with all four cores... for an£80 CPU im laughing sincethis thing now runs as fast as a stock 965 :o.
EDIT: Also got rid of the Corsair XMS2 ram, horribly adertised would go stable at x5.33so sent it back and got some Kingston hyperX 2x2GB 8500.

No one is going to rate my rig? :(
Its on the first page. I think I was one of the first 10-15 people to post.
Ok I will unofficially rate your rig. So I will give you a score equal to the square root of eighty-one. hope you can do the math ;)No one is going to rate my rig? :(

Well i dont know what "no rating for rigs that are in the post" means but below's a pic and it cost $1080 (w/ S&H)through newegg.com
juzekUnless you have it beside you right now then no rating.
Also that is not a picture of your rig, that is a picture of a similar rig. Post your own pics of your own rig. This thread is for rating present rigs only. Those in the mail, in a store, or in a parallel dimension won't be rated ;)

Pics of my main rig are in my sig, but for people with sig's turned off,
The last two are pics of my gf's rig. It is a really solid rig. It's got a Q6600 @3.2GHz, DFI P35 DRK, 4GB DDR2 800, 8800 GTS 512MB, Antec Earthwatts 650w.
I also have my second PC that I watch my slingbox on and play older games. It's running E6320 @3.0GHz, DFI P35 DRK, 2GB DDR2 800, 9600 GSO 384MB, Antec Earthwatts 380w, very good for a backup PC IMHO.

good on you mate i love it
also im thinking of making my own water cooling system how and where did you buy yours, can you please tell me all the parts your is made up of a i would be very greatful:D
oh ya i almost forgot id give it a 9/10 on the first and 8/10 on your GF's
Here is my rig: Link to the pictures: http://img385.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=frontcaseopen.jpg Link to pic slideshow: http://img385.imageshack.us/slideshow/webplayer.php?id=frontcaseopen.jpg Specs in signature:Z3PI dont know how Im meant to rate since there are so many different compilations of hardware one could muster up... but I would give it a 9/10 in terms of price/performance ratio, dont know how to rate it properly all seeing as though we can have up 3 GPUs these days if thats the way it goes then this scores a... 6/10? :| I dont know really how it works but, I know it plays every game at the highest of settings with the exlusion of the 3 obvious titles even then high on those games isnt bad at all. Also that PSU is overkill, unless your planning on going Crossfire.
Also that PSU is overkill, unless your planning on going Crossfire.Too_tight_shoesDepends how you buy your hardware, if you buy it hoping never to upgrade then getting the highest wattage you can makes sense... though i doubt that as he got a Rosewill

Yea I do plan on going crossfire after the 4890 drops a bit more in price, probably after christmas. I was really aiming at a budget gaming system and the rosewill power supply fit the bill, being about $100 dollars less than any other high wattage psu's. I built everything for right at $700 and have been happy w/ my gaming experience so far, I'm getting 16606 in 3Dmark06 http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/2681/3dmarkscore.jpg . My rig is "Deffinately" nothing compared to some of the slick looking i7 rigs on here but it's not a wallet crusher either.
