I mean in this day and age why the hell are we still using Molex connectors,,,the amount of times that i have tried to connect two together and the pins all fall out is numerous! C'mon companies, i know you cant really improve the performance of the things but just update them so they arnt heaps of ****!

Exactly, so they work the same but just lock into place or something,,,,cant be too hard to design.

I'm starting to wish I saved a bit more and bought a modular PSU, my cables are all over the place.

I've got a nice, modular PSU, but those molex connectors still BLOW! They're so annoying to plug into things when the pins aren't all straight too.

I know what you mean, it would be better if they just fused the the pins and wires rigidly to the connector or inbedded the pins in the plastic

I know what you mean but i managed to help solve the problem by pushing my spare cables down the back of my motherboard tray.

use the mob power connector and problem solved, but yeah the molex connectors are pretty bad, the sata plugs are way better.

There's alot of molex mods that would be difficult to do with inbuilt connectors though. Like volt mods, molex to 3 pin mods etc.

Just cut them and solder them yourself... easy enough.

i like the little 4 pin power connectors for fans that plug into the motherboard. surely they could make those in place of molex ones dangling from the psu? that would save a lot of space for cable management too.

In the UK their harder to come by, aswell as more expensive. Iirc, there may be an age limit on them to boot.

I really find that hard to believe... solder is not all that dangerous. I have a nice kit that was about 100 bucks. Soldering is a useful common skill.

Amen - I HATE molex connectors now. Especially when the pins are bent (meaning you have to straighten them up to connect properly) or sometimes the pins just breaks and comes off completely! I'm so glad that there's SATA now (no more bent or broken off pins problems now)
