A quad core vs a Duo core, For teh same price, E6850 is faster but it only has 2 cores, if u add bot cores is 6.0 ghz and if u add qQ6600 cores is up to 9.4 ghz,,,,,,, 6.0 ghz vs 9.4 ghz, The Q6600 can do more at the same time, the E6850 CANT!

honestly 7 fsp is not a big deal!!!!! u cant notice the diference with the human eye, is pointless to argue but the e6850 is 7 fps faster in all games taht use 2 cores, can u see teh diference? lol i rather pay same price for a quad core with 2 extra coresthan have7 fsp more, lol The people has spoken, The q6600 is sellin like hot cakes, and i know new quad cores will come in Q2 2008 but tahts how computer bussines is, they keep bringning and bringing new stuff every 2 months, " just wait for the new quad cores" then why u got a e6850 when u know new processors will come? lol we cant jus wait, cus once new quad cores arrive, intel willl put in the market a 8 cores processor and so on, for the same price of a duo core, get a quad core, alsoall teh benchmarks testwere in Half life2, Oblivion etc pretty much old games,,, New games will come and we will see the real power of the quad cores, Games taht need 4 cores will b to much for duo cores, and the ones who got a q6600 today will b fine for games to come without upgradin another processor and just waitin for a better one, but the ones who got a duo core with 7fsp faster, lol will need to upgrade faster than quad core owners.. Q6600 is a great deal over clock it @3.0 and u got yaself a Extreme processor with 4 cores.

this is just my opinion and there is some facts! facts that 4 cores can do more than 2 cores, =]

the Q6600 is better but not really worth the money buying a cheap $100-$150 core 2 duo and overclocking it should be plenty to last you till really need a quad core then by that time there will be like 2-3 more series of quad cores out that will be amazing and cheap

With the new stepping, Q6600's are definitely worth it... they can be overclocked higher - so you could get one to the same speed as an E6850 anyway, making it same clock speed AND with 2 extra cores - cant beat that value!

LOL!

You're basing it on an advert basically?

Of course Intel will be biased towards the Quad Core - they are more expensive, the more they sell the more money they get.

Obviously there is some truth there but its highly exaggerated and his voice makes me want to laugh!
