Psychonauts problem

Occasionally when the game goes to the load screen, it crashes, the crashes seem random and don't happen at any particular part of the game.

I originally played this game free on Gametap, and thought the problem was down to the service I was playing it off, so I decided to buy it off Steam, and I'm now having the same problem!

Here's the error information;

'Psychonauts has encounted an error - Crash: 0xc0000005'

I'm on XP, so it's not a Vista problem.

I'm sure there are more appropriate forums to ask in. You haven't given enough information, besides. What computer are your runnning the game on? What steps have you taken to fix the problem? Did you attempt to do what was suggested in that thread I linked?
